Your first featured stop is Cochem, where the Moselle wine story starts to come into focus. The town sits beneath its hilltop castle, with pastel-coloured buildings, narrow lanes, and small wine cellars giving it plenty of personality. This part of the journey also leans into traditional flavours, with regional dishes like leberkäse and sauerkraut offering a proper introduction to local food alongside the wines produced on the steep surrounding slopes.

Next, you’ll head further along the Moselle to Trier, Germany’s oldest city. It has a completely different feel from the smaller towns, shaped by its Roman past. During your time here, you’ll see landmarks, such as the Porta Nigra and the vast cathedral, adding a historical edge to the itinerary that balances out the wine-focused stops.

Then, you’ll rejoin the Rhine for one of the standout moments of the trip - cruising through the Rhine Gorge before arriving in Rüdesheim. This stretch of river is lined with castles, vineyards, and dramatic cliffs, and it feels noticeably different from the Moselle. In Rüdesheim itself, the atmosphere shifts again, with the Drosselgasse drawing people in with its traditional taverns, live music, and easy-going energy.
