Antarctica’s landscapes are constantly changing, so each day brings something different. You could cruise by Zodiac around the ice-filled waters of Portal Point, step ashore at Deception Island, or sail through the dramatic scenery of Paradise Bay, where glaciers meet deep blue water and wildlife is often close by. The expedition team will also share insights into the region’s geology, wildlife, and history of exploration.

This voyage is designed for getting involved. Paddling among icebergs offers a quieter way to experience the Antarctic Peninsula, while snorkelling gives you a completely different view of the icy waters. You can also join a snowshoe walk across the frozen landscape or spend a night camping on the ice, listening to the silence of Antarctica around you.

Wildlife encounters are a major part of the experience, with opportunities to watch penguins moving between their colonies, seals resting on ice floes, and seabirds soaring above the ship. There is also the chance to take part in citizen science projects and photography workshops, giving you new ways to understand and record the places you visit.

Your base for the journey is the Greg Mortimer, a small expedition ship designed for travelling in remote environments. Around the ship, you’ll find expansive observation decks, a library, lecture room, gym, sauna, two Jacuzzis, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a mudroom where expedition clothing and boots can be stored between landings.
