Your journey begins in Vilshofen, a traditional Bavarian town set beside the Danube. Its attractive old centre, colourful buildings, and relaxed riverside setting make it a pleasant starting point for the cruise. You can take time to enjoy the local atmosphere before settling into life onboard AmaSofia.

Next, you’ll arrive in Vienna, where grand architecture, historic coffee houses, and a strong musical heritage shape the city. Included experiences may take you beyond the centre to places such as Burg Liechtenstein and the Seegrotte, an underground lake located in a former gypsum mine. Back in the city, highlights include the Hofburg Palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, and the elegant Ringstrasse.

You’ll then continue to Budapest, one of the most impressive cities on the Danube. From the river, you can see the Hungarian Parliament Building, Buda Castle, and Fisherman’s Bastion rising above the waterfront. Away from the main sights, the city is also known for its thermal baths, traditional cafés, and local dishes such as goulash, lángos, and chimney cake.

Throughout the journey, AmaSofia will be your comfortable base. The new ship carries just 152 guests, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere on board. You will stay in a French Balcony Stateroom, where floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to bring in fresh air and uninterrupted views of the passing Danube scenery.
