Your first stop is Ålesund, known for its elegant Art Nouveau architecture and harbour lined with cafés, shops, and colourful buildings. Take a walk through the town, visit the Jugendstilsenteret museum, or head up to the viewpoint at Mount Aksla for views across the islands and surrounding mountains. Back on board, you’ll continue north towards Trondheim, passing coastal scenery that changes with every turn.

Next, you’ll reach Tromsø, known as the Gateway to the Arctic. Visit the striking Arctic Cathedral, explore the city’s polar history at the Polar Museum, or enjoy a warming drink in one of the city’s relaxed cafés. In December, Tromsø is also an ideal base for a Northern Lights excursion, with the surrounding countryside offering darker skies away from the city.

From Tromsø, the voyage continues towards Kirkenes and the North Cape. At Honningsvåg, you can travel to the North Cape plateau, the northernmost point in mainland Europe, where the Arctic Ocean meets wide, open skies. Further north, Kirkenes offers a taste of life close to the Norwegian-Russian border, with optional experiences including snowmobile rides and visits to the famous Snowhotel.
