The voyage is designed for active exploration, with days spent moving between islands by ship, Zodiac, kayak, paddleboard, glass-bottom boat, and on foot. Rather than simply viewing the Galápagos from a distance, you’ll get closer to the landscapes and wildlife that make the islands so extraordinary.
Wildlife is at the heart of every day of this itinerary. Walk among animals famously unafraid of people, watch sea lions lazing on beaches, see marine iguanas gathered in large colonies, and look out for nesting seabirds. In the water, snorkelling offers the chance to swim with sea lions, turtles, and tropical fish within the Galápagos Marine Reserve.
A major highlight of this trip is the time spent in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where you can observe giant Galápagos tortoises in the wild. Combined with the wider island-hopping itinerary, it gives you a brilliant sense of the archipelago’s variety, from ocean life and coastal wildlife to the greener landscapes inland.
