Cyprus in Style: From Spa Serenity to Private Pool Luxury
Cyprus is one of those places that seems made for slow, luxurious holidays: golden light, soft sea breezes and a relaxed Mediterranean rhythm that gently encourages you to switch off. On this trip, I combined two very special stays with time exploring both Old Paphos and Kato Paphos, creating a week that blended spa serenity, coastal glamour and authentic Cypriot charm. My journey began with four indulgent nights at the chic Cali Resort & Spa by Louis Hotels, followed by three unforgettable nights at the prestigious Cap St Georges Hotel, staying in a residence with its own private pool. Along the way, I wandered through atmospheric old streets, lingered by the harbour and soaked up Cyprus’s rich history and culture.
Arrival & Unwind: Four Nights at Cali Resort & Spa by Louis Hotels
Stepping into Cali Resort & Spa by Louis Hotels felt like exhaling. The design is contemporary and refined, with calm, neutral tones and open, light-filled spaces that immediately create a sense of ease.
Each morning began slowly, with long breakfasts and no need to rush. The resort’s pool area quickly became my favourite spot: sparkling blue water and comfortable loungers - It was the perfect setting to shake off everyday life and settle into a gentler pace.

If you really want to leave feeling resorted, there is a great spa at the hotel too.
Menus at the hotel leaned into fresh, Mediterranean flavours: grilled fish, ripe tomatoes, local olive oil and herbs that tasted as though they had just been picked. It felt both indulgent and wonderfully relaxed.
Those four nights at Cali set the tone for the entire holiday: unhurried, luxurious and deeply restorative.
Stepping into the Past: Time in Old Paphos
Although the hotel was beautiful, you are missing a trick if you do not go out and explore, and Old Paphos is where Cyprus reveals its soul. Here, history and everyday life mingle in a way that feels incredibly authentic.
Old Paphos is made for wandering. Cobbled lanes twist between stone houses, old churches and little shops, with splashes of bougainvillea climbing up balconies and doorways. I spent hours simply strolling, turning down whatever street caught my eye, and discovering quiet courtyards, local cafés and glimpses of daily Cypriot life.

Lunch here is an experience in itself. I settled into a shady spot in a small square and ordered meze, letting the dishes arrive as they were ready: grilled halloumi still sizzling from the pan, dips rich with tahini and garlic, bowls of olives and warm, soft pita bread. It is the sort of meal that you definitely do not want to rush!

The sense of history is palpable too. Ancient sites and stories are never far away, and there is a quiet dignity to the old buildings and streets. Exploring Old Paphos added depth to the trip, grounding all that seaside luxury in a real sense of place and heritage.
Coastal Energy & Culture: An Afternoon in Kato Paphos
We also spent some time in Kato Paphos which offers a very different atmosphere, with a lively coastal energy that perfectly complements the quieter charm of the old town.
I spent an afternoon following the seafront promenade, where the medieval castle watches over the harbour which is home to little boats bobbing gently on the water. The colours here are extraordinary: vivid blue sea, white boats, and that warm, golden Cypriot light.
Kato Paphos is also home to some of the island’s most important archaeological treasures. The UNESCO-listed sites, with their intricate mosaics and ancient villas, offer a fascinating glimpse into the island’s past. It is a rare luxury to be able to move so easily between centuries: one moment wandering through the remains of a Roman villa, the next sipping a cold drink at a waterfront café.
The promenade in Kato Paphos, is a perfect place for a slow stroll before heading back to the hotel and a day exploring Old Paphos and Kato Paphos makes you realised how easy it is to explore historic and contemporary sides of Cyprus in a single afternoon.
The Grand Finale: Cap St Georges Hotel & a Private Pool Residence
For the final three nights, I moved to the iconic Cap St Georges Hotel, where I stayed in a residence-style room with its own private pool. It took the holiday to another level.
The residence felt more like a private villa than a hotel room: generous, beautifully styled interiors, and then that magical moment when you step through the doors to your terrace and see your own pool shimmering in the sunlight. It instantly created a sense of seclusion and exclusivity.

If you can drag yourself away from your private pool, the main pool is amazing! No rushing for loungers, no loud music or water slides, just high quality with extremely discrete service throughout the day.

Days at Cap St Georges moved at whatever pace I wanted. I could stay tucked away in my residence, enjoying total privacy, or wander out to take advantage of the hotel’s wider facilities and beautiful setting. The combination of refined service, high-end finishes and that private pool made every moment feel special. Restaurant choice at the hotel was amazing, but if you wanted to take a short walk, there are more authentic Cypriot tavernas within a 15 minute stroll.

Why This Cyprus Escape Works So Well
What made this luxury Cyprus holiday truly memorable was the balance and variety:
- Cali Resort & Spa by Louis Hotels offered spa-centred relaxation and modern comfort: ideal for unwinding at the start of the trip.
- Old Paphos brought history, character and authentic local flavour, with long, lazy lunches and atmospheric streets.
- Kato Paphos added coastal buzz, seafront strolling and UNESCO-listed culture.
- Cap St Georges Hotel, with its residence and private pool, delivered that final flourish of privacy and exclusivity that elevated the whole experience.
Together, they created a journey that felt both indulgent and enriching: mornings by the pool, afternoons exploring, evenings spent savouring good food and beautiful sunsets.
If you are dreaming of a Mediterranean escape that combines high-end hotels, private-pool luxury and a real sense of Cypriot culture, this style of itinerary is a wonderful template.
