Part One : A- F

A–F – From Argentina to Fiji: Big Adventures & Far‑Flung Dreams When you start dreaming about your next big adventure, sometimes it helps to have a little alphabet of inspiration. Here are some “A–F” ideas to get you thinking about where your travels could take you next.

A is for Argentina: tango, glaciers & Malbec

Argentina is drama in the best way: late‑night tango, huge skies, ridiculous steaks and landscapes that do not look real.

Think:

  • Buenos Aires for pavement cafés, hidden cocktail bars and tango in old‑world theatres
  • Mendoza for vineyard stays, big Andes views and long Malbec‑soaked lunches
  • Patagonia for glaciers like Perito Moreno and lodges with roaring fires and star‑spattered skies
  • Iguazú Falls for rainforest atmosphere and thunderous water on the Argentina/Brazil border

Best time to go for a classic mix of city, wine, Patagonia and Iguazú is usually spring or autumn in the Southern Hemisphere (roughly October–early December and March–April).

Iguazu Falls, 2004 + La Boca, Buenos AiresB is for Brazil: beaches, rainforest & samba spirit

Brazil is pure joy: golden beaches, lush rainforest, samba rhythms and easy, laid‑back energy.

Highlights might include:

  • Rio de Janeiro for Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf, Ipanema and Copacabana
  • Búzios and the Green Coast for pretty bays, chic little beach hotels and seafood lunches by the water
  • The Amazon for wildlife, jungle lodges and canoe trips at dawn
  • Iguaçu Falls for jungle drama and big “wow” moments

Brazil suits anyone who loves colour, warmth and life lived outdoors.

Rio de Janiero

C is for Canada: wild West Coast wonder

Canada’s west coast is all about big skies, blue bays and mountain drama.

You could combine:

  • Vancouver for oceanside city vibes and park‑lined waterfronts
  • Vancouver Island for whale‑watching, bears on the shoreline and cosy lodges in the trees
  • Tofino and the Pacific Rim for surf towns, misty forests and storm‑watching in winter
  • The Rockies for turquoise lakes, alpine towns, gondolas and glacier walks

Ideal for travellers who love the outdoors, road trips and a mix of gentle adventure and comfort.

Banff

D is for Dominica: the Nature Island

If the Caribbean you are craving is more rainforest and waterfalls than all‑inclusive resorts, Dominica is a gem.

Expect:

  • Rainforest‑covered peaks, hot springs and black‑sand beaches
  • Waterfall walks to places like Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pool and Middleham Falls
  • Excellent snorkelling and diving, with wild, natural‑feeling beaches
  • Small‑scale eco‑lodges and boutique hideaways rather than large hotels

Perfect for travellers who like their Caribbean on the wild, green and off‑the‑beaten‑track side.

E is for El Salvador: underrated Central American colour

El Salvador is one of Central America’s lesser‑known gems: volcanic landscapes, colonial towns, coffee country and surf‑washed beaches.

You might:

  • Explore colourful markets and churches on the Ruta de las Flores
  • Visit coffee fincas on lush hillsides and crater lakes in the highlands
  • Wander characterful colonial towns and plazas
  • Add a few days on the Pacific coast for sunsets and laid‑back surf towns

It works brilliantly as part of a wider Central America itinerary, often combined with Guatemala, Honduras or Nicaragua.

F is for Fiji: barefoot island luxury

Fiji is for when you want your “pinch‑me” island escape: turquoise lagoons, palm‑fringed islands and some of the warmest hospitality on earth.

Think:

  • Mamanuca and Yasawa islands for classic white‑sand beaches and snorkelling straight from shore
  • Private island or barefoot‑luxury resorts with villas, infinity pools and open‑air spas
  • Sailing, reef snorkelling, perhaps manta encounters in season
  • Village visits and traditional kava ceremonies for a glimpse of Fijian culture

Perfect as a stand‑alone island escape or to finish off an Australia or New Zealand adventure.
