I started working in travel back in 1987 when I left college and joined Travel Counsellors in May 2003 to run my own franchise. I have sold everything from tailor-made holidays, cruises, flights and UK breaks to short haul packages. The Travel Counsellors concept provides a friendly and hassle free way of making your travel arrangements from the comfort of your own home or office. As I work from home I am available at hours that suit you and whilst I may not work 24-7 (after all I need some down time too), I am available for my customers when they need me.
I love knowing that I have been part of making happy holiday memories! I am extremely lucky that I have the best job in the world! My regular customers know how much I love this job and despite the challenges of Covid-19 I wouldn't want to do any other job. I get to travel around the world every day. Some days that may be close to home but on others I can find myself travelling to Dubai, the USA and then off to Australia! It all depends on where my clients take me!
I don't advertise, as my regular customers do a great job in referring me to their friends and family and my repeat business is over 70%. Many of my customers have become friends and I feel as if I am on their holiday as they keep in touch sending holiday snaps! I have booked some families for such a long time now that I have booked the next 2 generations which really does make my job so personal.
You are guaranteed a personal, honest and friendly service! By dealing with me you are also guaranteed to get through to me directly rather than someone anonymous in a call centre. I can’t be compared to online travel providers because I am a person offering a personal service! I am self-employed and finding the right holiday for you is important to me not only because it’s your holiday and it must be right but I want you to come back time and time again!

Simone was fantastic in helping us narrow down a very big brief! We wanted a luxurious honeymoon in June but had no idea where to go. She quickly suggested 3 top places and then kindly walked us through the pros & cons of each, with a breakdown across climate, cost and things to do. Although she knew what we were looking for, Simone didn’t push any of the locations and allowed us the time to work out what felt right. In the end, we’ve got exactly what we wanted in a 10 night stay to Mauritius with a fantastic hotel and flights that allow us to maximise our stay. We couldn’t be happier. The process was so smooth & simple thanks to Simone’s expertise and guidance along the way, thinking of things we wouldn’t have considered and ensuring we were completely satisfied with the choice.

Finding Simone has been wonderful, she has gone above and beyond to find us the perfect holiday, or should I say holidays! Nothing has been too much trouble and communication is fantastic. I don't know how she does it but Simone managed to do a totally tailor made holiday better than online. Simone is amazing at what she does. I asked her to find us a holiday in the UK where we could see otters. The options she sent me were all lovely, but as it is for me and my husband’s birthdays, she warned me that most properties were either Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday. I asked her about one of the destinations and how much it would cost for a week. Simone said if we go before the school holidays it would cost significantly less. I know Travel Counsellors are often about the luxury end of travel but Simone ensured our holiday was well within our budget. I would recommend her to anyone.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a cruise of the Baltic arranged by Travel Counsellor Simone Taylor-Gray. Simone has arranged all of our long haul holidays and cruises for over 20 years. We know through experience how professional she is and passionate about getting what we want from a holiday down to the smallest details - it really is most re-assuring. She is always available to consult - not just in office hours - responding to messages very quickly. Her advice and experience, knowledge of the industry is extensive and she has been able to answer questions or queries quicker than we could by trying other routes. We thoroughly recommend Simone - not only is she very professional - she is so easy to deal with, a great communicator and a bubbly character as well - we really look forward to contacting her knowing that the service we got all those years ago when we first contacted her is just as good if not better now. I do check out other travel agents now and again but always come back to Simone.

Simone was brilliant. We’d asked for self catering options for Majorca and Ibiza and she also gave us some options for Menorca - which we ended up choosing. She gave us options for the duration of the trip too - which was excellent. We’ve ended up with a great holiday - which was cheaper than I’d found on line - with a better quality of accommodation. Cannot wait to go. We’ve already recommended Simone to friends and family and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again. Every trip we’ve booked with her has been better than the last.
