Chasing Magic: My 3-Night Lapland Adventure

There’s something truly
enchanting about Lapland in winter: snow-dusted forests, dusky pink skies, and
the ever-present promise of festive wonder. In December 2024, we journeyed with
Canterbury (myself, Mya - 12 and Marley - 4) on a perfectly curated 3-night escape to the heart of Finnish
Lapland—and the memories will linger long after the frost melts.
From the moment we touched down, we were swept into a world that feels lifted from a storybook. Our cosy two bedroom log cabin, surrounded by whispering pines and thick blankets of snow, became the backdrop for days packed with Arctic delights. Each morning, the air was crisp and pure, scented with pine and possibility.
The highlight? Too many to mentioned! We loved meeting the reindeer and dashing through the trees in a traditional sleigh; this was pure winter magic, while our husky sled ride was a heart-pounding, unforgettable thrill. In the evenings, we gathered for hot chocolates by roaring fires, sharing stories under flickering candlelight.
Of course, no Lapland adventure would be complete without a visit to see the real Father Christmas in his secret log cabin. The look of wonder on Mya and Marley’s faces is something I’ll cherish forever.
The Canterbury team’s attention to detail was exceptional throughout: from seamless transfers and expert local guides, to little touches like personalised welcome packs and surprise snowy treats. Each moment thoughtfully designed, each experience tailored to delight.
Lapland is more than a destination—it’s a feeling. If you dream of making magical memories with your loved ones, this is a journey I can wholeheartedly recommend.
