Cosmopolitan Cape Town

I was lucky enough to spend 10 years of my life living in this amazing country, so I am a little bias when it comes to South Africa, I still have friends there, so I have a great excuse to head back to my second home yearly.

Depending what you are looking to do during your stay in Cape Town will depend very much what time of year is best for you to travel, the weather in the Cape is very different to Johannesburg.

December to March is the best time to go if you are looking for some much needed sun, and June to November is whale season. Even in the hot summer months, you need to pack for a few different seasons, Cape Town is windy , even on the hottest days a jacket is sometimes is needed.

January this year I visited for a whirlwind trip , and squeezed a lot into just 8 days. Cape Town is so easy to get around and explore, we walked a lot, Uber is also a great way of getting around. Or maybe try the hop on hop off bus.

I spread my time between the city, Durbanville staying with friends, and then a very alcoholic stay in Franschhoek , hoping on and off of the wine tram drinking our way through all the beautiful wine farms, including Mont Rochelle which is owned by Richard Branson/

I also arranged a full Cape Peninsula tour, where we took in the incredible sights of Camps Bay, Cape of Good Hope and the National Park, Hout Bay, which is famous for Sharks, if you have ever watched a shark documentary there is a huge chance that it was filmed here. We took the scenic drive along Chapman's Peak Drive, which has been featured in films such as James Bond & Tomb Raider, along with many car commercials. We also stopped at the Shark Spotting hut at Muizenberg Beach, the hut is set high above the beach, the shark spotter sits in the hut watching out for sharks, when he spots one, he presses a button which alerts the lifeguards down on the beach, so they can get everyone out of the water.

Of course I just had to go to the top of Table Mountain, this can only be done in good weather conditions.

The pound to South African Rand is amazing value at the minute, which makes this holiday of a lifetime such good value.

I have lots of local tips and information, which I would love to chat to you about if you are planning a visit to this very special country.
