Seduced by Sandals
We stayed on the Caribbean side of the resort, which was perfect for us, we had a luxury level room, which looked on to one of the six pools at the hotel. The hotel is situated on Dickenson Beach, which is famed for being the best beach on the Island.
This was our first ever all inclusive experience, and we were not quite sure if it would be for us, little did we know that we would be seduced by Sandals! The food is exceptional, fine dining and 11 eateries to choose from, we felt so spoilt.
We did make sure we did lots of excursions; Island Boat Tour, this power boat trip takes you for a full tour round the island, giving you chance to see all 365 beaches for yourself, Antigua has a beach for every day of the year ! You also get to stop at Stingray City, where in the middle of the sea you swim with hundreds of wild Stingray, there are also opportunities to stop for some snorkelling, we were even luck enough to spot dolphins. Antigua Land Tour, a great day out getting to see the rest if the island, and learning about it's rich history, you will visit : Devil's Bridge, Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights, St, Johns & Sir Vivian Richards Cricket grounds. The Sunset Cruise, this was a fun evening, with lots of rum punch, and the chance to watch the sunset over the Caribbean sea.
I love horses, I have two of my own, and when I go away I always want to do a beach ride, I was lucky enough in Antigua to do a beach ride, and then also take the tack off and go swimming in the sea with the horse, it was like a childhood dream come true.
Antigua has been one of our most favourite holidays to date, and we have been well & truly seduced by Sandals.
Lobster is a real speciality, and it's great, highly recommend trying it whilst you are on the island, as well as their famous black pineapple, which is the national fruit of Antugua & Barbuda, the pineapple's are sweeter than normal, they are the sweetest pineapples in the world. We did also sample quite a few of the islands different rums.... well when in Rome and all that
