Mallorca has no shortage of beautiful places to stay, but MICHELIN Key hotels represent something a little different. They are properties where design, service, setting and atmosphere all come together at a consistently high level. These are the hotels I pay particular attention to when I am curating something really special for my clients.

Belmond La Residencia: Artistic, romantic, “old Mallorca” charm

Belmond La Residencia is an icon, and its appeal is deeply rooted in atmosphere.

Why I love it here:

• Storybook setting in Deià: Perched in one of Mallorca’s prettiest villages, it is surrounded by olive groves and the Tramuntana mountains. Guests feel part of a postcard-perfect landscape as soon as they arrive.

• Warm, personal service: Many staff are long tenured and know the property and village inside out. Service feels caring and human, with a strong sense of pride in what they do.

• Classic interiors with character: Terracotta tiles, beams, antique pieces and local textiles give rooms depth and warmth. It is ideal for clients who love charm and character over sleek minimalism.

• Ideal for romance and special occasions: The combination of setting, views and service makes it perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons or simply a trip where the hotel itself becomes part of the memory.

Cap Rocat: Dramatic fortress hideaway with a cinematic feel

Cap Rocat is one of those hotels that people remember for years because of the setting alone.

• Unique fortress architecture: Set in a former military fortress on the bay of Palma, it has ramparts, tunnels and stone structures that have been sensitively converted into luxurious suites and public spaces. It feels genuinely unique, not easily replicated elsewhere.
