Sandals Barbados & Sandals Royal Barbados: Two Resorts, One Dream Holiday!

Andrea Lovatt on 05 Sept 2021

If you are dreaming of an adults–only, all–inclusive escape where everything is taken care of, the neighbouring Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados in St. Lawrence Gap are a perfect Caribbean double act. Staying at either resort gives you a wealth of choice. Palm–fringed pools, pristine white–sand beaches and warm turquoise waters set the scene, while the signature Sandals all–inclusive concept covers premium drinks, gourmet dining, water sports and entertainment. It is the kind of place where you can arrive, put your suitcase down and not have to think about a bill until you are back home.

Sandals Barbados offers a laid–back, tropical feel with beautiful pools, gardens and a sociable atmosphere. Think lazy days by the beach or pool followed by evenings at the resort’s restaurants and bars, from casual grills to more elegant dining. It is ideal if you love a classic Caribbean resort vibe with plenty going on but still want space to relax together.

Sandals Barbados

Right next door, Sandals Royal Barbados turns the dial up a notch on contemporary luxury. There is a chic, modern feel throughout. Guests can enjoy the stylish rooftop pool and bar, a choice of speciality restaurants and vibrant evening venues, all designed with couples in mind.

One of the biggest advantages is that guests can typically enjoy shared privileges between the two, giving access to an impressive selection of restaurants, bars, pools and lounges in one stay. Whether you prefer the relaxed charm of Sandals Barbados, the elevated, modern style of Sandals Royal Barbados, or a bit of both, this corner of the island makes a fantastic base for exploring Barbados or simply unwinding in the sun.

I stayed at Sandals Barbados for 7 nights and it was one of my favourite places I have ever stayed.

Sandals Barbados

The resorts are beautiful and are made up of separate village with rooms overlooking the beach or set back in the quieter Crystal Lagoon Village with gorgeous lagoons running all around.

All of the luxury, club and butler suites are just beautiful and include swim-up suites, private pool suites and the fabulous skypool suites and most have Tranquility Soaking Tubs on the balcony!

The unlimited food and drink in the world-class standard restaurants is definitely one the main highlights when staying at a Sandals resort! Restaurants include Butch’s Chophouse Steakhouse, Indian, Oriental, Italian, Seafood Grill, Sushi Bar, Seaside Bar & Grill, Pizzeria, The Merry Monkey English Pub and Café de Paris for coffee & cakes! Whichever of the two neighbouring resorts you stay at you have access to 21 dining options.

Butch's Steak House

We ate in most of these restaurants. Butch’s Chophouse was amazing and Kimono’s was excellent with the chefs cooking on hot plates in front of you but Portofino’s Italian was our favourite. We also loved the Merry Monkey English Pub with pool and snooker tables.

Kimono's Oriental Restaurant

The resorts are full of beautiful pools and jacuzzi’s right on the beach aswell as the crystal lagoon pools, quieter pools and the rooftop pool at Sandals Royal Barbados.

Pool

On the beach there are watersports including hobie cats, paddle boarding, kayaking, body boarding and snorkelling.

Sandals also include up to two  free scuba diving tanks per day for certified divers, along with professional gear, boat transport, and guided tours.

Hobie Cats

The hotel also have a glass bottom boat which takes you to the capital Bridgetown to snorkel over shipwrecks and swim with the turtles …. We did this and it was amazing.

Bridgetown

There was evening entertainment from Caribbean nights to beach parties, live bands and piano bar. There was waterpolo in the pool and volleyball on the beach every day and table tennis. There are lovely seating areas with firepits, cabanas and hammocks dotted all over the resort and private beach. There is also the Red Lane Spa, gym and resort shop.

Beach

We did another trip to nearby Oistins for the evening for the famous ‘Fish Fry’. It is like an open-air street party and food market held every Friday night where you eat street food cooked in front of you by the dozens of vendors.

Our holiday at Sandals Barbados, from start to finish, was absolutely fantastic. From the rooms to fabulous restaurants and food, bars, drinks and cocktails, gorgeous pools and beach and the trips …. We had such a wonderful time. We found Sandals Barbados to definitely be a 5* resort with everything you could possibly wish for with world class dining but it had such a lovely relaxed and friendly feel.

If you love the idea of a luxury all–inclusive with a choice of atmospheres, these sister resorts in St. Lawrence Gap are perfect …. They have luxury rooms and suites, return Sandals transfers, world-class restaurants and bars, lovely pools, unlimited food and drink, unlimited watersports and land sports and entertainment all included …. Plus …. Guaranteed relaxation!

Let me know if you would like more info on these Sandals resorts in Barbados or any of their other resorts in Antigua, Bahamas, Curacao, Grenada, Jamaica, St Lucia and Saint Vincent & The Grenadines.
