Disney Dream cruise ship

Cunard vs. Disney

Two cruise lines that, on the face of it, couldn’t be more different...

And yet, they’re two of the cruise lines I book most often for my clients.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realise they actually have rather a lot in common.

Both are premium cruise lines and, in my opinion, a real step up from mainstream cruising. If you’ve sailed with P&O, MSC or Royal Caribbean before, I think you’d notice a big difference on board, particularly when it comes to the spaciousness and the dining experience.

Both cruise lines have ships with that wonderful sense of timeless elegance. You know you’re on a traditional cruise ship, rather than a floating resort.

Both are fantastic for multi-generational holidays. There’s so much for grandparents, parents and children to enjoy, with plenty of opportunity for everyone to have their own space and do their own thing, but also to come together and enjoy as much family time as they wish.

Both are incredibly welcoming and service-focused, with a real emphasis on making you feel well looked after.

And then there’s the loyalty of their guests. Cunarders are VERY loyal to Cunard. And Disney fans are exactly the same with DCL.

Once people find their cruise line, they can be surprisingly difficult to tempt elsewhere!

Of course, the cruise lines are very different in so many ways too. Cunard has its refined British heritage, while Disney brings that unmistakable magical experience.

But perhaps that’s what makes the comparison so interesting.

They each have their own personality, but both deliver that feeling that you’re on a really special holiday.

If you’re planning a family or multi-generational cruise and aren’t sure which would suit you best, that’s exactly the sort of dilemma I’m here to help you with.
