Looking back at Atlantis The Royal, Dubai
In 2023, I was fortunate enough to be invited to experience Atlantis The Royal, shortly after this extraordinary new hotel opened on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
Having stayed in many excellent hotels during my years in travel, it takes something special to really surprise me – and Atlantis The Royal certainly did that. Its striking design, exceptional restaurants, spectacular pools and sheer attention to detail created an experience unlike anywhere else I had stayed.
Rooms with unforgettable views
The bedrooms are beautifully designed, combining contemporary luxury with plenty of space and impressive bathrooms. Depending on their location, rooms enjoy wonderful views across Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf or Dubai’s skyline.
We were also lucky enough to visit the Royal Mansion, the hotel’s finest accommodation and one of the most spectacular suites in Dubai. This enormous four-bedroom duplex occupies two floors and has its own private entrance and lift, elegant living and dining areas, a kitchen, bar and an expansive terrace with a private infinity pool. The panoramic views across the Gulf and Dubai skyline were breathtaking. It really has to be seen to be believed.
Dining at Ling Ling
One of the highlights was a wonderful evening at Ling Ling, the hotel’s stylish Asian restaurant and lounge.
The food was excellent, but it was the complete experience that made the evening so memorable. The glamorous interiors, lively atmosphere and fantastic views created a real sense of occasion. It is an ideal choice for a special dinner before enjoying a drink and taking in the Dubai skyline.
Nobu by the Beach
We also enjoyed Nobu by the Beach, which brings Nobu’s famous Japanese-Peruvian food to a relaxed but very stylish beach club setting.
It is a fabulous place to spend the day, with its beautiful pool, private cabanas and beachfront location. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service and a laid-back atmosphere made it another highlight of our visit.
Cloud 22
Cloud 22 was every bit as impressive as it looks in the photographs. Situated high above the resort, its infinity pool appears to merge into the Dubai skyline, with far-reaching views across Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.
With its rooftop bar, luxurious sunbeds and incredible setting, it is a wonderful place to relax during the day or enjoy a drink as the sun begins to set. For me, it remains one of the most memorable rooftop pool experiences in Dubai.
Aquaventure Waterpark
Guests also have access to the enormous Aquaventure Waterpark at neighbouring Atlantis The Palm. With everything from high-speed slides and family attractions to gentler pools and beach areas, it adds another dimension to the holiday.
It means you can enjoy the sophistication and luxury of Atlantis The Royal while still having some of Dubai’s best family entertainment close by.
Who is Atlantis The Royal perfect for?
I would particularly recommend Atlantis The Royal for couples, families and groups celebrating something special. It is ideal for anyone looking for:
- An exceptional luxury hotel with a real sense of occasion
- Outstanding restaurants and stylish bars
- Beautiful rooms, suites and spectacular views
- Impressive pools, beaches and private cabanas
- Easy access to Aquaventure Waterpark
- A memorable honeymoon, anniversary or special family holiday
It is undoubtedly luxurious, but it also offers far more than simply an impressive bedroom. It is a destination in its own right, with enough dining, entertainment and leisure facilities to make every day feel different.
A huge thank you to Kerzner International for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to experience this remarkable resort personally.
