F1 is no longer just a race weekend

The 2027 Formula 1 calendar has 24 Grand Prix across 22 countries and 10 Sprint weekends, giving travellers plenty of opportunities to build an exciting trip around the racing.

For a busy professional, though, the attraction isn't necessarily spending hours online trying to work out which flights connect with which race weekend, where to stay, how to get to the circuit or what ticket options are available. I will arrange an F1 trip around the experience you actually want, from flights and accommodation to transfers, additional nights and race tickets or hospitality options where available through appropriate suppliers.

The F1 races that make the bucket list

There are certain races that seem to appear again and again when people talk about their F1 bucket list, and usually the reason has very little to do with simply watching the race.

Monaco is probably the obvious one. There is something very different about watching Formula 1 weave through the streets of Monte Carlo, surrounded by the harbour, superyachts, restaurants and the glamour of the Principality. In 2027, Monaco also gets a Sprint weekend, making it an especially interesting option for anyone looking for a longer F1 experience.

Monza offers another kind of bucket-list experience. The Italian Grand Prix is steeped in history, with the race taking place at the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and the atmosphere surrounding the event is as much a part of the experience as the racing itself. Add a few nights in Milan, some Italian food and perhaps Lake Como, and suddenly you have a very different sort of break.

Then there are the races where the destination itself becomes part of the attraction.

Singapore combines Formula 1 with one of Asia's most exciting cities, with the Marina Bay circuit providing the backdrop for F1's famous night race. It is particularly well suited to a longer trip because there is so much to do before and after the Grand Prix.

Las Vegas is almost impossible to separate from the destination. A Saturday-night race through the heart of the Strip, combined with the restaurants, shows, hotels and entertainment that Las Vegas is known for, makes this feel very different from a traditional European race weekend.

And Abu Dhabi has become another popular choice for people wanting to finish the F1 season in style. With Yas Marina, luxury hotels, beaches, restaurants and the wider attractions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, it lends itself particularly well to adding a few days either side of the race.

The exciting thing about the 2027 calendar is that there are also some less obvious options. Portugal returns to the calendar at Portimão, while Türkiye returns at Istanbul Park, giving F1 fans the opportunity to combine the racing with destinations that can offer a completely different travel experience.

So when a client tells me, "I'd love to do F1 one day," my first question isn't necessarily which ticket do you want?  It's what sort of trip do you want to have?

Do you want the glamour of Monaco? or a longer trip that uses the Grand Prix as the centrepiece? That's where the fun starts, making the whole trip work. One of the things I love about arranging travel is looking at the bigger picture.

Where can we add a few nights? Is there a better hotel location? Would flying in and out of different airports make the trip easier? Could we build in a fantastic restaurant, a private transfer, a city stay or a few days somewhere completely different afterwards?

The 2027 calendar has some particularly interesting opportunities, including the return of Portugal and Türkiye. For my clients, the value isn't simply finding a holiday online. It's having one person who understands what they want, knows the questions to ask and can take care of the moving parts.

Because if you're going to spend the money on an F1 weekend, you may as well make the whole trip count.
