After Seven Visits to Ikos Andalusia, Here's the One Thing Guests Shouldn't Miss

As I travel home after another wonderful week at Ikos Andalusia, I find myself reflecting on what keeps drawing me back to this exceptional resort year after year. This was my seventh visit, and once again, everything was outstanding. The service was impeccable, the food exceptional, and the atmosphere struck that perfect balance between luxury, relaxation and effortless hospitality that Ikos does so well. Having written about Ikos Andalusia several times before, I've already shared my thoughts on the beautiful accommodation, outstanding facilities and impressive collection of à la carte restaurants. This time, however, I wanted to focus on something that doesn't always receive the attention it deserves. The buffet. I know that might sound surprising when we're talking about one of the world's leading luxury all-inclusive resorts, but hear me out.

THE BUFFET THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

When many people hear the word "buffet", they immediately think of long queues, repetitive dishes and a compromise on quality. At Ikos Andalusia, the reality couldn't be more different.

With seven superb à la carte restaurants available throughout your stay, it would be easy to view the buffet as simply a convenient alternative. In truth, it's an experience all of its own.

Rather than a traditional buffet, it feels more like a vibrant international food market, where talented chefs showcase their skills through freshly prepared dishes, live cooking stations and beautifully presented cuisine from around the world.

Every evening offers something different. Guests can watch expert sushi chefs carefully prepare delicate rolls and sashimi right before their eyes, while the talented pastry team creates desserts that would look perfectly at home in a luxury pâtisserie window.

One particular evening celebrated the flavours of Argentina, with succulent picanha steaks, sizzling Argentinian sausages, melted provolone cheese and spectacular tomahawk steaks taking centre stage. The aromas alone were enough to draw guests from every corner of the restaurant.

What impresses me most is the consistency. The quality, freshness and presentation are exceptional, and there is always something new to discover.

The beauty of the buffet at Ikos Andalusia isn't simply the variety of food on offer. It's the theatre, the creativity and the passion of the chefs who bring it to life every evening.

Whether you're sampling international specialities, enjoying freshly prepared seafood, indulging in artisan desserts or simply exploring something new, every visit feels like a culinary journey.

For families, couples and food lovers alike, it's an experience that genuinely rivals many standalone restaurants.

MY ADVICE

If you're fortunate enough to visit Ikos Andalusia, don't make the mistake of overlooking the buffet in favour of the à la carte restaurants alone.

While the restaurants are exceptional and absolutely worth experiencing, the buffet deserves a place on your dining schedule too. It showcases the incredible talent, creativity and attention to detail that make Ikos Andalusia so special.

As for me, I'm heading home with wonderful memories, a very full stomach and perhaps a slight dependence on the daily glass of champagne that had somehow become part of my routine!
