Iceland Group Travel 2027: Northern Lights, Glaciers & Adventure In A Small Group
A hosted Iceland group trip designed for travellers who want adventure, seamless planning and unforgettable experiences
If Iceland has been sitting on your bucket list for years, this is your sign to finally do it.
I’m so excited to officially launch our very first hosted group trip with fellow TC Charlotte Helstrom, and we’re heading somewhere pretty special.
From 5th–8th February 2027, we’ll be taking a small group of just 8 clients to experience some of the very best of Iceland in winter, including Northern Lights, glacier adventures, geothermal spas and landscapes that genuinely don’t feel real.
This isn’t a huge coach tour with 40 strangers and a clipboard. We’ve intentionally designed this Iceland group trip to feel personal, relaxed and experience-led, with Charlotte and I hosting throughout alongside our trusted local supplier on the ground.
If you love the idea of adventure travel without having to coordinate every detail yourself, Iceland group travel really is one of the best ways to experience this incredible country.
As I talk about in my blog on why travellers are increasingly choosing to use travel advisors, expert planning becomes particularly valuable for destinations like Iceland where weather, logistics and seasonal conditions can completely shape the experience.
Why Iceland Is Perfect For Small Group Travel
Iceland is one of those destinations where logistics can become surprisingly complicated quite quickly.
You’ve got changing weather conditions, long driving distances, limited daylight in winter and activities that often require specialist vehicles or guides. That’s exactly why guided tours in Iceland work so well. You get to fully enjoy the experience without stressing about the planning.
Our Iceland small group tour has been designed for travellers who want:
Incredible experiences
A sociable atmosphere
Expert planning
Seamless logistics
The chance to see Iceland properly
And because we've capped the group at just 8 people, it means:
No huge coaches
No rigid schedules
No feeling like "just another tourist"
Instead, expect a relaxed, friendly group trip where everything has already been thoughtfully taken care of for you.
What's Included In Our Iceland Group Tour?
We wanted this trip to include some of Iceland’s absolute highlights while still allowing time to soak up the atmosphere of Reykjavik and enjoy travelling as a group.
Your Iceland holiday package includes:
Return flights from London Heathrow with British Airways including luggage
Private group airport transfers in Iceland
Three nights in a 4* hotel in Reykjavik with breakfast included
A Northern Lights cruise
Golden Circle Super Jeep tour
Glacier snowmobiling experience
Entry to Sky Lagoon including the signature 7-step spa ritual
Professional hosted support throughout the trip
Flexible payment plans available
One of the biggest benefits of booking Iceland group travel through a travel advisor is that everything works together seamlessly. No trying to coordinate transfers, tours and timings yourself. We’ve already done it for you.
Northern Lights In Iceland
For many people, seeing the Northern Lights is the reason Iceland ends up on their travel wishlist in the first place.
February is one of the best times to visit Iceland for Northern Lights opportunities thanks to the long dark evenings, and we’ll be heading out on a nighttime cruise in search of them.
Of course, the Aurora Borealis can never be guaranteed, but there’s something incredibly special about being out on the water under Iceland’s winter skies with that sense of anticipation. Even if the lights only appear briefly, it’s one of those travel moments people never forget.
Snowmobiling Across An Icelandic Glacier
This is one of the experiences I’m most excited about!
We’ll be heading out on a snowmobile tour across an Icelandic glacier and if you’ve never driven across a glacier before, it’s every bit as epic as it sounds. This is exactly the kind of experience that makes Iceland group tours so memorable. You get access to adventures that would be much harder to organise independently, especially during winter conditions.
Relaxing At Sky Lagoon
After all the adventure, we’ll slow things down with a visit to Sky Lagoon.
If you’ve seen photos of Iceland’s geothermal lagoons online, you’ll already understand why they’ve become so iconic.
At Sky Lagoon, you’ll experience the signature 7-step spa ritual while soaking in geothermal waters overlooking the ocean. It’s the perfect contrast to Iceland’s wild landscapes and one of the things I love most about travelling here. Iceland somehow manages to feel adventurous and relaxing at exactly the same time.
Is Iceland Expensive?
This is probably one of the most common questions people ask before visiting Iceland.
The short answer is yes, Iceland can absolutely be expensive if you try to organise everything independently at the last minute.
That’s one of the reasons Iceland group travel can actually offer really strong value. By packaging together flights, accommodation, transfers and experiences, you avoid many of the hidden costs that quickly add up.
Our hosted Iceland group trip starts from £1975 per person including flights from London Heathrow.
We also offer:
Payment plans
Alternative departure airports
Tailor made Iceland extensions
Single room supplements subject to availability
So whether you want a short Iceland adventure or a longer tailor made itinerary exploring more of the country, we can build the trip around you.
Why Book Iceland With A Travel Advisor?
Even confident travellers often benefit from expert support when planning Iceland.
Iceland is one of those destinations where local knowledge genuinely matters, particularly in winter. Weather, activity timings and route planning can all affect your trip and having expert guidance makes the experience far smoother.
As a travel advisor, my role isn’t simply booking hotels and flights. It’s about creating an itinerary that feels seamless, knowing which experiences are worth prioritising and making sure your trip flows properly from beginning to end.
Most importantly, it’s about having somebody there to support you if plans suddenly need to change.
Can You Extend Your Iceland Trip?
Absolutely!
If three nights in Iceland doesn’t feel like enough, we can build this hosted group trip into a completely tailor made Iceland itinerary before or after the tour.
Some travellers may want to:
Explore Iceland’s South Coast
Drive the Ring Road
Add extra spa stays
Visit the Blue Lagoon
Stay in luxury countryside lodges
Continue on to North America
That’s the beauty of working with an independent travel advisor. Your trip doesn’t have to fit into a standard package.
Who Is This Iceland Group Trip Perfect For?
This trip is ideal for:
Solo travellers
Friends travelling together
Couples
Adventure travellers
Bucket list travellers
People wanting to experience Iceland without organising every detail themselves
Travellers who prefer small group travel over large escorted tours
Most importantly, it’s for people who want incredible experiences with like minded travellers in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Absolutely. February is one of the best months to visit Iceland if you want the chance to see the Northern Lights while also experiencing winter adventures like glacier snowmobiling and geothermal lagoons.

Unfortunately, no one can ever guarantee the Northern Lights because they’re a natural phenomenon. However, February is considered one of the best months for Northern Lights visibility in Iceland, which is exactly why we chose these dates.

Yes. Small group tours are a fantastic option for solo travellers who want the experience of travelling with like minded people without the stress of organising everything independently.
