What I loved about Fariones:

• It feels intimate and boutique rather than a big resort.
• Gorgeous spaces to just sit, relax and look out at the sea.
• A great choice if you like things stylish and design-led, but not fussy.

The overall vibe is relaxed sophistication. I could easily see couples here, friends on a child-free break, or anyone who wants to feel pampered and peaceful without masses of noise and activities going on around them.

Who I’d send to Fariones Hotel:

• Couples wanting a special escape, birthdays, anniversaries or “just because” treats.
• Friends who like long lunches, good wine, and lazy afternoons by the pool.
• Solo travellers who want somewhere safe, elegant and low-key where they can unwind.

If you like the idea of waking up, wandering down for a leisurely breakfast, and then drifting between pool, beach and cocktail with no pressure to “do” very much, this could be your Lanzarote match.

Princesa Yaiza: Elegant, Resort Feel & Perfect For Families

Princesa Yaiza, although part of the same group, has a completely different personality. It feels more like a classic, upscale resort: bigger, with more facilities, more buzz and plenty of space for families.

What stood out at Princesa Yaiza:

• Loads of facilities to keep everyone happy for a week or more.
• A more “resorty” energy, with different areas to explore.
• A good balance of elegance with a very family‑friendly feel.

Where Fariones feels serene and grown-up, Princesa Yaiza feels like the place to go when you want a proper holiday base with things to do, especially if you’re bringing children or travelling as a bigger group.

Who I’d send to Princesa Yaiza:

• Families who want kids’ facilities without losing that sense of quality and comfort.
• Multi‑generational groups who need something for grandparents, parents and children.
• Anyone who loves a resort atmosphere, with choice and variety on tap.

If your idea of a great holiday is the children happily entertained, plenty of pool time, options for meals and activities, and a setting that still feels special, I’d be looking closely at Princesa Yaiza for you.

Why My FAM Trips Matter For Your Holiday

On paper, these two hotels might look quite similar: same group, same island, both in great locations. But once you’ve wandered the corridors, seen the pool areas at different times of day, eaten the food, felt the atmosphere and slept in the beds, the differences are huge.

That is exactly why I go on FAM trips.
