The hotel that I fall in love with over and over again

There are hotels you recommend… and then there are hotels you personally return to.
For me, The Silo Hotel firmly sits in the latter category. Perched high above the iconic V&A Waterfront , this architectural masterpiece is more than just a place to stay, it’s an experience that never loses its magic, no matter how many times I walk through its doors.

What makes The Silo instantly recognisable are its extraordinary pillowed glass windows, geometric, light-catching, and completely unique. Built above the world renowned  Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, the hotel feels like it floats above the city, offering a perspective that few properties in Cape Town can rival. Step inside, and you’re greeted by bold colours, eclectic textures, and a curated collection of African art that gives the hotel its soul. It’s vibrant yet refined playful but undeniably luxurious.

Each suite at The Silo is completely individual, which is part of its charm. There’s no “standard room” here, only thoughtfully designed spaces filled with personality. What keeps drawing me back, Those floor to ceiling windows. Whether you’re soaking in a freestanding bath or enjoying a morning coffee, the views stretch across Table Mountain, the harbour, and the city skyline. It’s Cape Town at its most cinematic.

If there’s one place I gravitate to every single visit, it’s the rooftop.
With its intimate pool, stylish bar, and panoramic views, it’s quite simply one of the best vantage points in Cape Town. Sunset here is something special, the sky transforms, the city glows, and you’re reminded exactly why this destination captures hearts so effortlessly.

Luxury is not just about aesthetics, it’s about how a place makes you feel. At The Silo, the service is warm, intuitive, and genuinely personal. Returning month after month, I’m always welcomed back not as a guest, but as someone they remember. That level of attention is rare, and it’s a big part of why this hotel continues to top my list.

Cape Town is filled with incredible hotels, but The Silo offers something different. It’s bold, artistic, and unapologetically unique. It’s a place where design, location, and service come together effortlessly.
For my clients seeking something extraordinary or for those celebrating a special occasion, this is always one of my first recommendations. And for me,  It’s a place I’ll never tire of returning to.
