Why Atlantica Imperial Residences Is Our New Favourite Adults‑Only Hideaway

Kolymbia in Rhodes (Greece)

Thinking about an adults‑only escape with swim‑up luxury and no towel wars by the pool? We have just come back from Atlantica Imperial Residences in Rhodes and it has officially become our new favourite hideaway.

Andy & myself - the smiles say it all!Why Atlantica Imperial Residences Is Our New Favourite Adults‑Only Hideaway

In July 2026 my husband Andy and I treated ourselves to a week of pure indulgence at Atlantica Imperial Residences in Rhodes. We already knew and loved the main hotel from a previous trip, so this time we decided to upgrade to the Residences: the more exclusive, adults‑only wing designed for guests who really appreciate the finer things in life.

We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, everything about this stay felt effortlessly luxurious, but never stuffy: just beautifully relaxed, warm and incredibly spoiling.

Arrival: fizz, a golf buggy and instant relaxation

Our holiday began the second we stepped out of the transfer. We were welcomed with a chilled glass of fizz and, rather than queueing at a busy reception, we were whisked over to the Residences on a golf buggy. It sounds like a small thing, but it instantly set the tone: calm, unhurried and very personal.

Check in was completely effortless. Everything about our stay was explained clearly, from where we could dine to what was included in our all inclusive package. Our A La Carte reservation was reconfirmed and we were invited to book our second one, which is a lovely little perk of staying in the Residences. Within minutes we were being shown to our room, fizz in hand and already starting to unwind.

Deluxe Swim-Up with Limited Sea ViewOur deluxe swim‑up suite: minimalist, chic and so well thought out

We had chosen a Deluxe Swim‑Up room with limited sea view, located on the second floor above the bar and restaurant. In reality, the view was anything but limited: we looked out over the resort and the sea, and it quickly became our favourite place to sit with a drink and simply soak it all in.

The room itself had that perfectly judged minimalist, chic design: nothing fussy, everything high quality. The real “wow” moment, though, was stepping out onto our terrace. We had:

·         Direct access to a shared swim‑up pool for around eight rooms, with a little jacuzzi seat

·         Two proper cushioned sun loungers

·         A table and chairs for drinks or room‑service snacks

·         A handy shade blind so we could enjoy the space without roasting in the afternoon sun

Inside, the room continued the luxurious feel. A beautifully finished bathroom came with Molton Brown amenities and a bath with a rainfall shower. The bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of storage, and the air conditioning was superb, which in early July was essential for a good night’s sleep. A daily‑stocked minibar, bathrobes and in‑room loungers all added to the sense that everything had been thought through for a really indulgent adults‑only escape.

One of the things we loved most about Atlantica Imperial Residences was the overall atmosphere. This is very much a place for couples and adults who want to relax. It is strictly adults only across both the Residences and the main hotel, so you will not find anyone under 16 staying here. During our stay it was mostly couples, including a few same‑sex couples, and it felt very naturally LGBTQ+ friendly.

The Residences has a wonderfully chilled vibe. There is sometimes gentle music in the evenings, but mostly it is peaceful and low key. If you want something livelier, you can simply wander over to the main hotel for more entertainment. It is the best of both worlds: peace and quiet where you sleep and sunbathe, with the option of a bit more buzz when you are in the mood.

Around the pool bar at the Residences there are a few sun loungers, but we never once saw the usual “towel wars” you get in some resorts. In truth, most guests seemed to prefer staying on their own swim‑up terraces, which meant there was never any stress about finding a spot.

We are not particularly beach people, but we did walk down a few times. The beach is about a five‑minute stroll from the Residences, in front of the main hotel. It is a mix of sand and shingle with the clear Aegean Sea in front, and offers a nice change of scene if you fancy a dip in the sea rather than the pool.

Blue Bay Gourmet DiningDining & drinks: quality all inclusive, standout cocktails and a resident cat

We stayed on an all inclusive basis, although half board is also available. One of the loveliest benefits of being in the Residences is having your own private breakfast restaurant, Blue Bay. It felt calm and exclusive, with attentive service and a great choice to start the day. If we wanted a change, we could also use the main restaurant in the hotel, which gives extra variety for longer stays.

In the evening, dinner is taken at the main hotel, which is only a short walk away. As Residences guests, we were entitled to two A La Carte dinners per week, choosing from:

·         Mylos Restaurant: Offers modern Greek and Mediterranean dishes with a focus on local ingredients and traditional recipes.

·         Ginger Restaurant: Features international fusion cuisine with beautifully presented dishes and creative flavour combinations.

·         Blue Bay Restaurant: Located in the Imperial Residences section, this award‑winning venue serves fine dining and gourmet international dishes in an elegant setting.

We opted for Blue Bay and Mylos. We had eaten at the Greek restaurant during our previous stay and loved it so much that we were keen to return. The food was excellent again, and this time it came with a new highlight: being introduced to Ginger, the resident cat at Mylos, who makes the rounds hoping for the odd treat or crumb that might fall from the table. It is a tiny detail, but one of those charming touches that gives the place personality and makes the evening feel even more relaxed and homely.

Even the buffet options are a cut above, with very good quality ingredients and plenty of choice. They are also great with dietary requirements as long as they know in advance, so this is a strong option for anyone who needs to be careful with what they eat.

The cocktails deserve a special mention. The Greek Spritz and Aperol Spritz became firm favourites for us, and they really add to that holiday feeling of spoiling yourself a little.

Service in the bars and restaurants was consistently excellent: attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely friendly.

Chocolate on the pillow - evening turn down service!Service and special touches: where the hotel really shines

If we had to pick one thing that lifts Atlantica Imperial Residences into “pure indulgence” territory, it would be the service. Throughout our stay we felt genuinely looked after.

Kiki in the Residences was a real star. She took such good care of us and really made the experience feel personal, to the point that it was genuinely sad saying goodbye when we left. It is those connections that stay with you long after the holiday ends.

There are lots of thoughtful little extras too. Every evening we had turndown service with a chocolate on the pillow, which always makes a room feel extra cosy and cared for. As it was Andy’s birthday during the trip, the team arranged a bottle of fizzy wine and a birthday cake complete with candles. It was such a lovely surprise and made the day feel really special.

We did not use the spa, gym or indoor pool this time simply because we were so happy with our swim‑up room. Nor did we join in any organised activities, preferring to relax, read and walk around the resort. On our previous visit we explored more, including trips to Lindos and Symi, which are both fantastic add‑ons for anyone wanting to see more of Rhodes.

Imperial Residences hotel entranceWho Atlantica Imperial Residences is perfect for

For us, Atlantica Imperial Residences is absolutely best suited to:

·         Couples (or adult family groups) probably over 30

·         Affluent travellers who enjoy high levels of service and quality dining

·         Guests who value peace, comfort and attention to detail over late‑night partying

It is not right for anyone wanting a lively, party‑all‑night atmosphere, and it is of course not suitable for families with children. The Residences building is set slightly back from the main hotel, so there is a short walk involved, although it is fully accessible.

Our three standout highlights were:

1.      The exceptional service and staff

2.      The quality and variety of the food and cocktails

3.      The beautiful rooms, especially our deluxe swim‑up suite

If you are looking for an adults‑only escape that feels indulgent, relaxed and very special, Atlantica Imperial Residences should be high on your list.
