Adaaran Select Meedhupparu Review: My Experience at This All-Inclusive Maldives Resort

One of the things I love about travelling to the Maldives is that the holiday starts as soon as you collect your bags. We were med by a representative of the hotel and taken straight to the Coral lounge where we could get a bite to eat and drink and even shower if we wished, whilst we waited for our seaplane.

I arrived at Meedhupparu by seaplane, flying over the beautiful Maldivian atolls and turquoise water below. It's such a memorable way to arrive and really gives you that feeling that you're heading somewhere special.

Once I arrived on the island, the pace immediately slowed down. Adaaran Select Meedhupparu has a lovely, relaxed feel and doesn't feel overly formal or stuffy.

It's the sort of place where you can spend the morning snorkelling, have lunch by the beach, enjoy a cocktail in the afternoon and then settle down for some live music in the evening.

What are the rooms like at Adaaran Select Meedhupparu?

There is a good choice of accommodation at Adaaran Select Meedhupparu, including Beach Villas, Deluxe Beach Villas and Water Villas.

I stayed in a Beach Villa, which I absolutely loved.

The best part for me was being able to open the doors in the morning and walk straight out onto the beach. Having the sand and sea literally on your doorstep is exactly what I want from a Maldives holiday.

The Water Villas offer a different experience and also have their own restaurant, giving guests staying in these rooms an additional dining option. They also have a separate pool too. 

So whether you're looking for that classic beachfront Maldives experience or want to stay over the water, there are different room categories to choose from.

Food and dining at Adaaran Select Meedhupparu

As an all-inclusive Maldives resort, there was plenty of choice when it came to food and drink.

We enjoyed the buffet restaurants for lunch and dinner and there was a good variety available. One of my personal highlights was the Indian buffet, which I really enjoyed.

We also tried the fantastic à la carte restaurant down by the beach. Having somewhere to enjoy a meal with the sand and sea around you added to that lovely relaxed island atmosphere.

For me, the combination of the all-inclusive offering and the choice of dining made it an easy resort to relax in without having to think too much about where you were going to eat next.

101 cocktails... although I didn't get through them all!

One of the fun features of the resort is its cocktail bar, which offers 101 cocktails for guests to try.

I'll admit, I didn't get anywhere near trying all 101 during my three-night stay!

It was a great spot to enjoy a drink and make the most of the relaxed atmosphere, particularly as the day started to wind down.

Snorkelling the house reef

If you're visiting the Maldives, being able to snorkel straight from the island is a big attraction, and I really enjoyed exploring the house reef at Meedhupparu.

There were lots of different types of fish to see, and I could have spent much longer in the water exploring.

One of the other guests mentioned that they had seen a turtle on the house reef during their stay. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to spot one myself, but it certainly shows what you might encounter beneath the water.

Dolphin boat trip

We also headed out on a dolphin boat trip one morning, which was a lovely way to get out on the water and see more of the surrounding area.

Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, of course, but being out on the Maldivian waters was a lovely experience in itself.

Relaxing at the spa

The resort also has a spa, which I really enjoyed.

It had a lovely open and peaceful feel, and one of my favourite moments was being there while it was raining. Being able to hear the rain around me while having some time to switch off was incredibly relaxing.

It was one of those simple moments that reminded me how much the Maldives is about slowing down and enjoying your surroundings.

Is Adaaran Select Meedhupparu good for families?

Yes, I think it could work really well for families looking for an all-inclusive Maldives holiday.

The resort has a kids' club which looked like great fun for younger children, as well as plenty of space to enjoy the beach, swimming and activities around the island.

At the same time, the resort has that relaxed atmosphere that makes it appealing to couples and adults too.

Evening entertainment

The entertainment during our stay was good, and one of my personal favourites was the live music.

I liked that the entertainment added to the atmosphere without taking away from the relaxed feel of the island.

After a day of swimming, snorkelling and enjoying the sunshine, sitting down with a drink and listening to live music was a lovely way to spend the evening.

The staff really make Adaaran Select Meedhupparu

One of the things that stood out to me most during my stay was the staff.

Everyone we came across was friendly, welcoming and genuinely keen to make sure guests were having a good time.

I also spoke to several guests who had returned to Meedhupparu, and I can completely understand why.

There's something lovely about a resort where guests clearly feel comfortable enough to come back year after year. The staff were a huge part of the experience for me and really added to the welcoming atmosphere.

Who would I recommend Adaaran Select Meedhupparu to?

Based on my own stay, I think Adaaran Select Meedhupparu would suit a range of travellers.

It's worth considering if you're looking for:

• An all-inclusive Maldives holiday
• A relaxed, informal island resort
• A choice of beach and water villas
• A good house reef for snorkelling
• A resort with activities and excursions
• A Maldives resort suitable for families
• A spa and opportunities to completely switch off

My Adaaran Select Meedhupparu review

After spending three nights at Adaaran Select Meedhupparu, I came away genuinely impressed.

It has that classic Maldives experience you come for: beautiful beaches, turquoise water, snorkelling, beachfront accommodation and the chance to simply slow down and enjoy island life.

What I particularly liked was that it didn't feel overly formal. It felt easy-going, friendly and welcoming, with plenty to do if you wanted to be active, but equally plenty of opportunity to do absolutely nothing.

For me, the combination of the lovely island, choice of accommodation, all-inclusive offering, house reef, spa and fantastic staff makes this a property I would be very happy to recommend to my clients.

And after three nights, I definitely wasn't ready to leave!
