A girls weekend in Ibiza
I hadn’t been to Ibiza since the summer of ‘94, when I was 18…footloose and fancy free and up for anything on a girls ‘Club 18-30’ holiday. Fast forward 32 years and when my old friend suggested we all went back to celebrate our 50th birthdays, naturally I jumped at the chance.
Back in the 90's, as it is now, Ibiza was known as ‘the’ party island and we stayed in San Antonio. This time we chose Playa den Bossa, which while still a party town, is a little less chaotic and English-touristy than San Antonio.
Ibiza has changed so much over the last 30 years…hasn’t everywhere?…but we still recognised the old layout of San Antonio, the rocks near Cafe Mambo and the cheesy street that rises up from the seafront, with bar staff attempting to lure us in by offering us free shots - we’ve changed a bit too though over the years 😆

We opted to visit Pikes, an exclusive club in the middle of nowhere, but famous for the music video ‘Club Tropicana’ and also for Freddie Mercury’s parties. We weren’t disappointed - such a cool vibe with great music and a fabulous atmosphere. To visit Ibiza and not experience at least one of the clubs would be such as shame…but book in advance if you can, otherwise you may be disappointed, especially in high season.
Now I don’t always suggested all inclusive to customers, especially if you’re planning to stay in a town with lots of restaurants and bars…it’s always lovely to experience the locals establishments…however if you’re in a large group, staying in a resort that offers all-inclusive, especially somewhere like Ibiza where drinks are NOT cheap, I’d definitely recommend it. We stayed at the Grand Palladium White Island, which we found to be perfect for our needs. Really good food, great staff, lovely rooms and by a lovely beach too…

All in all, we had a fabulous short break to Ibiza. Great memories with amazing friends that will last forever…
