Ikos Andalusia: My First‑Hand Review of 5‑Star Luxury on the Costa del Sol
As you know, I was recently privileged to be invited on a FAM trip to the stunning Ikos Andalusia, hosted by Karl Oliver in conjunction with Aspire. We could not have been more welcomed from the minute we arrived at Malaga Airport to the moment we left. Our private transfer was waiting on arrival and just 50 minutes later we walked into Ikos Andalusia to meet Katarina and her team. The customer service was second to none from every member of staff we met.
Who are Ikos Resorts?
For those not familiar with Ikos Resorts, they are all about 5‑star luxury all inclusive, with a unique, superior concept that combines elegant contemporary accommodation, five‑star service and fantastic facilities for families and couples alike.
Everything is designed so that once you arrive, you can simply relax and enjoy, without constantly having to think about extras, hidden costs or planning where to eat each day.
Where is Ikos Andalusia?
Ikos Andalusia is on Playa de Guadalmansa, a beautiful beachfront location near Estepona on the Costa del Sol, around 50 minutes by private transfer from Malaga Airport.
It is perfectly placed for those who want easy access from the UK, plenty of sunshine, and a stylish base close to Marbella and Estepona, while still feeling like a self‑contained luxury escape.
Accommodation: rooms, suites & villas
The resort has over 400 rooms and suites, many with sea views, private gardens or private pools.
I would recommend it for families and multigenerational stays, but it also has adults‑only areas (including a pool and quiet restaurant zones) as well as deluxe suites and villas for a more exclusive experience.
Room types suit all guests and requirements, from lead‑in Superior Double Rooms to Deluxe Suites with private pools, right up to the stunning 2 Bedroom Deluxe Grand Penthouse Suite with Sea View and the 4 Bedroom Deluxe Villa with Private Pool and Gardens.
Whether you are travelling as a couple, a family, or a larger group, there is a configuration that will work beautifully.
Dining & drinks
One of the real standout features of Ikos Andalusia is the dining.
There are 9 restaurants, only one of which is buffet, with the rest all à la carte, plus 9 swimming pools including an adults pool and exclusive pools for deluxe guests.
Wine lovers are spoilt for choice with around 100 local and international wines, sommeliers on hand to help you choose and complimentary wine tasting.
The emphasis is very much on quality and variety, with menus inspired by both local flavours and international favourites, all wrapped into the luxury all‑inclusive concept so you can relax and indulge.
Activities, wellness & experiences
Ikos Andalusia manages to combine relaxation with plenty of things to do, whether you are active by nature or simply like to have options.
There are plenty of sports activities, an indoor and outdoor gym, and bikes for all ages to ride along the beach boardwalk.
Golfers can enjoy green fees at a local course, and the Dine Out programme allows guests to eat at selected local restaurants in the Marbella/Estepona area at no extra charge.
A real highlight for me is the use of a Mini Countryman for one day of your stay as part of the all‑inclusive experience, so you can explore the local area. This forms part of their Local Discover programme, encouraging guests to get to know the destination and support the local community.
It is a lovely balance between resort luxury and genuine connection with the surrounding area.
