Amsterdam Short break

Amsterdam Short break

For short breaks or longer stays

Having just returned from an amazing short break in Amsterdam where I have been to before, and it reminded me exactly why this city is perfect for a long weekend.

Think elegant canals, gabled townhouses, cosy cafés and world‑class culture, all wrapped up in a relaxed, walkable city that feels instantly welcoming. Whether it is your first visit or a return trip, there is always another neighbourhood to wander or museum to discover.

Here are some of my must‑do recommendations:

  • Explore the canals by boat at sunset for a completely different view of the city
  • Visit the Anne Frank House and book well in advance
  • Spend a morning in the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum
  • Wander the Jordaan district for independent boutiques and brunch spots
  • Hire bikes for a few hours and ride through Vondelpark
  • Take a food tour to try Dutch specialities like stroopwafels and bitterballen
  • Pop over to De Pijp for buzzing bars and street‑food style dining

If you would love a tailored Amsterdam city break, with the right hotel in the right area and all the planning taken care of, contact me and I will put together a trip designed just for you.
