Pinxtos in San Sebastian

I've already been asked on a number of occasions WHY San Sebastian & after watching James Martin's cooking preparing tapas at the top of the Monete Igueldo I knew I wanted to visit & it did not disappoint!

We decided to travel with KLM from Humberside via Amsterdam which I'd highly recommend....... We then jumped on the bus from Bilbao airport going directly into the center of San Sebastian, no stops which is a bonus!

I always found the decision making on hotels a tough call, location over facilities... So we decided to stay slightly out of the main town and had a rooftop pool which was perfect!

Due to the hotels location we did use the local transport which was excellent.  San Sebastian is easy to walk around Parte Vieja (Old Town)  is easy to get lost in but with Pinxtos bars dotted on every corner it was just another excuse to stop to share a selection of Pinxtos whilst enjoying a glass of fizzy wine.

All three beaches are accessible from the center and are busy with locals and tourists. From the beach you can see the famous Monte Igueldo and no trip to San Sebastian would be complete without a trip on the funicular to the top along with the little boat rise around the edge taking in breathtaking views of San Sebastian and the wider Basque country region.

A trip to the cathedral is a must and the San Telmo Musuem for an insight into Basque History!
