A world of possibilities with Silversea’s new 2028/2029 collection

Japan by sea

Japan features prominently in the new collection, offering a considered way to experience the country’s contrasts by sea. Depending on the itinerary, you might begin in Tokyo before sailing towards Shimizu, Nagoya, Kobe, and Hiroshima, or follow the northern coastline to Kanazawa, Aomori, Hakodate, and Sapporo. Along the way, there is a chance to experience Tokyo’s neon-lit streets and world-class dining, reflect on Hiroshima’s past at the Peace Memorial Park, and visit Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha. Further north, Kanazawa brings the peaceful surroundings of Kenroku-en Garden, traditional teahouses, and a long-standing connection with Japanese craftsmanship, while ports such as Nagasaki, Kagoshima, and Kyoto add even more depth to the journey.

Islands across the Pacific

The South Pacific offers a completely different pace, with voyages through French Polynesia calling at Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Huahine, Rangiroa, and Bora Bora, as well as destinations such as Rarotonga, Apia, and Pago Pago. Days can be spent on the water, taking a lagoon cruise, visiting a local market, or walking through the interior of one of the islands, while the smaller stops bring a sense of adventure beyond the better-known names.

Australia and New Zealand

In Australia and New Zealand, Silversea’s voyages move between major cities, coastal towns, and some of the region’s most impressive scenery. A sailing from Melbourne towards Sydney can include Tasmania, the Whitsunday Islands, Cairns, and the Great Barrier Reef, while routes around New Zealand call at Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Auckland. The scenery changes constantly, from Queensland’s beaches and islands to the mountains and waterways of the South Island, with scenic cruising through Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, and Dusky Sound offering a memorable way to take it all in without needing to unpack and move between hotels.

Glaciers, fjords, and northern cities

Alaska brings dramatic scenery, with routes through the Inside Passage calling at Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, and Valdez, where you can watch for whales, eagles, and bears, take a railway journey through the mountains, or admire the ice formations of Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm from the ship. Northern Europe offers a different kind of grandeur, shaped by historic ports and elegant cities, from Lisbon and Bordeaux to Copenhagen and the Norwegian fjords.

A new arrival in the Caribbean

Silversea has also introduced Canouan as a brand-new destination, marking the first time the cruise line has visited the island. Located in the Grenadines, Canouan offers a quieter alternative to some of the Caribbean’s better-known ports, with beautiful beaches, calm waters, and views across the surrounding islands. It features on itineraries that also include Bequia, Bridgetown, Montserrat, and St. Kitts, while other voyages pair the new stop with St. Barts, Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba.

Get ready for a Mediterranean summer, the Seabourn way

02 October 2026

There are plenty of ways to see the Mediterranean, but arriving by small ship can reveal a very different side of it. With Seabourn, a summer voyage can take you from celebrated cities and islands to smaller harbours and coastal towns that don’t feature on every Mediterranean cruise itinerary. One day might bring the whitewashed streets of a Greek island, the next an ancient archaeological site, a colourful local market, or a yacht harbour tucked along the French or Italian Riviera.

Beyond the magic: Why a Disney cruise is the perfect holiday for every generation

01 September 2026

When you think of a Disney cruise, you might expect a holiday designed first and foremost for children. So, when Head Office colleague Steve Hawker booked a cruise on Disney Dream for his three young children, he expected them to have the holiday of a lifetime. What he didn't expect was that the rest of the family would be just as enchanted. Travelling as a group of 13 across three generations, the experience quickly became far more than a children's holiday. From the moment their family was announced on board to the sound of Disney's famous horn fanfare, it was clear this was a cruise designed to bring everyone together, no matter their age.
