3 reasons to visit Atmosphere Kanifushi this autumn and winter

October: share something different at the Just Veg Food Festival

From 4th–9th October 2026, Atmosphere Kanifushi welcomes back its Just Veg Food Festival for a sixth edition, bringing acclaimed Italian chef Fabrizio Marino back to the island. This year’s theme is ‘Family Style’, with sharing, conversation, and togetherness at the centre of the experience. Rather than treating vegetarian dining as an alternative, the festival celebrates just how creative plant-forward food can be, bringing together chef Fabrizio’s Mediterranean influences with the flavours and ingredients of the Indian Ocean.

It’s about much more than sitting down to another evening meal. The atmosphere is deliberately social, with thoughtful dishes designed to be enjoyed together and food becoming part of the wider island experience. Just Veg has long been part of Kanifushi’s culinary identity, and the festival is a chance to see that philosophy brought to life in an even more imaginative way. For food lovers, whether you’re vegetarian or simply curious to try something different, it adds another layer to a Maldives escape.

November: Italian wine meets island living at BOTTEGA Gala Gold

From 12th –14th November 2026, BOTTEGA Gala Gold returns following the success of its previous collaboration with the resort. Created with renowned Italian winery Bottega S.p.A., the three-day programme combines wine discovery, curated dining, and the easy-going pace of life on a Maldivian island. Guests can look forward to specially created food and wine experiences across selected dining venues, pairing premium wines with Kanifushi’s distinctive culinary settings.

The celebrations culminate in the BOTTEGA Gala Gold, where cuisine, wine, entertainment, and the tropical surroundings come together for an evening beneath the Maldivian sky. What makes the event particularly appealing is the contrast. There’s sophistication in the wine and dining, but none of the formality you might associate with a traditional gala. Barefoot island living remains very much part of the experience.

Festive 2026–27: embark on the Kanifushi Odyssey

And as the year draws to a close, Atmosphere Kanifushi is preparing something completely different. Running from 21st December 2026 to 8th January 2027, Kanifushi Odyssey will turn the festive season into a journey of celebrations, dining, entertainment, discovery, and shared experiences across the island. The full programme is being kept under wraps for now, which is all part of the fun.

There will be familiar festive traditions, reimagined for a tropical setting, as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day unfold beside the Indian Ocean. The celebrations will then build towards a major New Year’s Eve event, with more experiences continuing into the first days of January. Designed with couples, families, and multigenerational guests in mind, the idea is that there will always be something new waiting around the corner, while still leaving plenty of time to enjoy the slower rhythms of island life.
