An unforgettable weekend in Barbados with Travel Counsellors

Imagine pristine beaches, warm tropical breezes, and days filled with celebration and connection. That’s precisely what a group of Travel Counsellors experienced during a trip to Barbados. Hosted along the sun-kissed Platinum Coast, this trip had everything from relaxing on powdery white sands to exploring island traditions.

An unforgettable weekend in Barbados with Travel Counsellors

A warm welcome to Barbados

The adventure began as soon as Travel Counsellors touched down on Barbados’ beautiful shores. Greeted at the airport by a Fast Track representative, the group breezed through arrivals and settled into the lap of luxury at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. This 5-star gem, set against the sparkling Caribbean Sea, perfectly combines elegance with Barbadian charm. Each suite is a personal slice of paradise, boasting breathtaking views of turquoise waters and tropical gardens.

The excitement kicked off with an enchanting welcome party on North Beach that same evening. Guests sipped on cocktails as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting golden hues over the shore. The atmosphere was electric, with live steel pan music and Bajan-inspired cuisine served from live cooking stations.

Celebrating on the Platinum Coast

The days that followed were a celebration of each Travel Counsellor’s achievements and camaraderie. The trip was packed with unforgettable activities designed to reward and inspire, they visited the iconic Sandy lane for a tour and a delicious lunch, and the beautiful Apes Hill where they had their pick of the best group activities. One standout experience was the private catamaran cruise along the Platinum Coast. With sunshine sparkling on the water, the group sailed through crystal-clear bays, pausing to snorkel over coral reefs. Some even swam alongside graceful sea turtles, making for unforgettable memories.

Travel Counsellor Emma said, "I loved our day at Apes Hill, viewing the gorgeous golf course, grounds, and villas. I chose the sip and paint class, where we enjoyed painting in the sun with the warm sea breeze and a glass of rose to keep us cool!"

Evenings brought a creative blend of relaxation and entertainment. The group indulged in fine dining at some of the island’s most renowned spots, including the iconic QP Bistro. A three-course feast complete with local flavours and fine wines kept spirits high, while the stunning oceanfront setting provided a picture-perfect backdrop. The seamless mix of elegance and Caribbean warmth reminded everyone why this island is renowned for its hospitality.

Exploring the island’s wonders

Barbados isn’t just a haven for relaxation—it’s an adventure lover's dream. Our Travel Counsellors dedicated a day to exploring the island’s cultural and natural treasures. Some visited Oistins Fish Fry, savouring freshly grilled seafood while soaking up authentic Bajan culture. For those craving nature, a guided wander through lush trails or trying paddle boarding on the calm, clear waters of the Caribbean Sea was an unforgettable way to immerse themselves in the island’s serenity. Others chose to unwind at the resort, indulging in spa treatments or lounging by the pool, cocktail in hand.

A farewell to remember

The trip concluded with an extraordinary farewell dinner at the Palm Terrace at Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Guests gathered one final time to toast the memories created throughout the weekend. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of the sea and a balmy ocean breeze, the mood was celebratory yet heartfelt. The exquisite three-course meal featured local delicacies, like flying fish and Cou-Cou, ensuring the flavours of Barbados would linger long after the trip ended.

Live entertainment and dancing added a joyful rhythm to the evening, bringing an incredible getaway to a bittersweet close. Travel Counsellor Zoe summed it up perfectly, "Barbados really is the golden isle! From it’s beautiful beaches to the incredible dining, outdoor activities and natural beauty – I was really impressed by the range of things to do, see, and experience, it is definitely a multi-faceted destination.”

Why you should consider Thailand during green season

21 August 2026

When most people think of Thailand, they picture the dry, busy months - the packed beaches, the long queues at temples, the peak-season prices. But, outside of these peak months, Thailand’s green season reveals a softer, more atmospheric side of the country. The landscapes deepen in colour, the pace eases, and familiar places begin to feel more spacious, from temple courtyards and hillside trails to palm-fringed beaches.
