My name is James Comrie,
Since 1983, I have had the privilege of helping my clients turn their travel dreams into reality. That means I am now celebrating over 43 years in this incredible industry, and more than 23 successful years as an independent Travel Counsellor.
I began my career in 1983, working for award‑winning travel agencies in Crieff, Dundee, Perth and Stirling. Those early years gave me a strong foundation in customer service, attention to detail and creating holidays that genuinely fit each person, not just what was on page 27 of a brochure.
By the early 2000s, it was clear that travel was changing. More people wanted to visit family and friends in far‑flung places like Australia and New Zealand, or to build completely tailor‑made itineraries that did not fit the traditional package format. I realised my role needed to evolve too. Rather than simply selling holidays, I wanted to focus on long‑term relationships, personal advice and bespoke experiences.
In 2003 I joined Travel Counsellors, and it was the perfect fit. I run my own business from home, which means you benefit from truly personal, one‑to‑one service, but I am also backed by a fantastic global support team. You get the best of both worlds: a dedicated travel professional who knows you, supported by a company that is fully focused on care, protection and peace of mind.
Over the years I have been fortunate to visit many destinations that my clients love, including Australia,Austria, Abu Dhabi, Barbados, Cambodia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Dubai, France, Greece, Germany, Grenada, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, India, Iceland. Jamaica, Maldives, Mauritius, Morocco, Portugal, Qatar, Spain, Singapore, South Africa(my favourite) Turkey, UAE, USA and Vietnam. This first‑hand knowledge helps me to give honest, practical recommendations, whether you are planning a once‑in‑a‑lifetime trip, a special celebration or a short European escape.
What has never changed is my belief that travel is personal. I take the time to get to know you, understand what matters most, and then quietly take care of the details so you can simply relax and enjoy the journey.
