I’m Joe, and I’m obsessed with all things travel.

I’ve spent the last 7 years in the travel industry specialising in adventure, touring and long-haul holidays: the kind of trips that get you off the beaten track, meeting locals, trying new flavours and coming home with stories you can’t wait to tell. If you want to truly experience the world rather than just see it, you are absolutely my kind of traveller.

Before I became a Travel Counsellor, I spent 16 years as a professional chef. I moved to London at 16 to start an apprenticeship at The Savoy, then went on to cook in some incredible hotels, restaurants, on cruise ships and charter yachts. Along the way I have cooked for over 40 major European football teams, international cricket and rugby sides, royalty and personalities including the late Queen Elizabeth II, Michael Jackson, Rihanna and Tom Cruise, to name just a few.

Food is still at the heart of how I travel. I use taste and culinary experiences to understand a country’s history and culture, and I love helping my customers do the same: whether that is sipping chai on a street corner in India, exploring night markets in Vietnam or uncovering tiny family-run tavernas in Europe.

I have lived and worked overseas for almost 6 years in New Zealand and Australia, and I have also worked for cruise lines in the US. I have travelled to (and in some cases lived in) over 30 countries, including Jordan, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and many more. I have spent extended time exploring South East Asia and have travelled extensively throughout Europe. More recently, destinations such as Morocco, Jordan and India have completely blown me away.

My travel career is focused on touring, adventure, long-haul and tailor-made itineraries. I genuinely believe touring is one of the most underrated ways to travel. I had no intention of going on a tour until my early 30s, and now I am a complete convert.
