We flew into Oslo for a short 4 day visit and we luckily had beautiful warm and sunny weather. We particularly enjoyed the area we were staying in Aker Brigge and it close proximity ot the waterfront where the national museum and the Nobel Peace museum are located. We went out into the Fjord on an old wooden ship for a short cruise and also used the local ferry to visit the folk museum which is well worth a visit as it shows not only the buildings as they wqere 300 years ago but its also a living museum where volunteers dress and are working in the farms and homes. As well as exploring the cit which has many sights including the Munch museum (he was the artist for the Scream painting) we also explored away from the city taking the metro to Sognsvann where within a short walk you are at an idyllic lake which we walk around and up into the hills to a cafe for coffee and waffles. Oslo has a reputation for being expensive but generally we found it comparable to UK prices and so a short break doesnt break the bank and I would thoroughly recommend you go visit.
