We had a spectacular start to our 3 nights on Kauai with a helicopter & Jurassic Falls landing. Honestly the views over the Na Pali coast are some of the best I have ever seen and brought me to tears. Soaring above lush valleys, hidden waterfalls and sheer cliffs, you see parts of the island that are impossible to reach by car. Hovering over the iconic Jurassic Falls, then actually flying down into the falls and landing just near the spot in the movie, where Richard Attenborough stood was incredible. It felt like stepping into a film set: just the two of us. The island is so lush and green, with jagged hills everywhere that make the scenery so dramatic. Views of Waimea Canyon from the air were just stunning. The tour is run by Island Helicopters, and they are the only company with permission to land at the falls. They take nature seriously and you must wear protective covers over your shoes so as not to contaminate the nature near the falls. The views were never ending and as most of Kauai is not accessible by road or foot, a flight over the island is the perfect way to see it all. For honeymooners, this is would be a perfect “wow” moment at the start of your trip, something you will both talk about for years.
