After boarding in Passau, one of the highlights early in the journey is Český Krumlov. Reached from Linz, this beautifully preserved town feels like stepping into another era, with its winding cobbled streets, colourful buildings, and impressive castle overlooking the Vltava River. It's the sort of place where you'll want to take your time, wandering through hidden courtyards, browsing local artisan shops, and stopping for a traditional Czech lunch in one of the town's historic taverns.

Next, you'll sail through one of the most scenic stretches of the Danube as you reach Melk and Weissenkirchen in the Wachau Valley. Melk Abbey dominates the landscape with its striking Baroque architecture, while Weissenkirchen offers a completely different atmosphere, surrounded by terraced vineyards and peaceful riverside scenery. This part of Austria is known for its wine, apricot orchards, and relaxed village life, giving a glimpse of a slower side of the country away from the major cities.

The journey then continues to Vienna, where grand boulevards, elegant palaces, and centuries of history come together. From the Hofburg Palace and St. Stephen's Cathedral to the city's famous coffee houses, Vienna offers plenty to explore. Afterwards, you'll continue to Bratislava before arriving in Budapest, where several nights in the Hungarian capital allow time to experience highlights, such as the Parliament Building, Fisherman's Bastion, and the lively cafés and restaurants that line both sides of the Danube.
