Further along the river, you'll explore Mainz and Heidelberg, two cities that showcase different sides of Germany's past and present. Mainz is famous for its impressive cathedral and connections to Johannes Gutenberg, while Heidelberg charms visitors with its romantic riverside setting, grand castle ruins and beautifully preserved Old Town filled with cafés, boutiques, and historic squares.

Crossing into France, Strasbourg offers a wonderful blend of French and German influences.
