• Your journey starts with a pre-cruise stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, giving you time to ease into the trip before embarkation. The hotel puts you in the heart of downtown, close to Robson Street, the waterfront, and many of Vancouver’s restaurants and shops, so you can make the most of the city before heading north into Alaska.
• Once on board, the surrounding scenery becomes the main event. Cruise through the Inside Passage, where narrow channels, forested islands, and snow-capped peaks create an ever-changing backdrop, before sailing into Glacier Bay National Park. Here, huge tidewater glaciers descend towards the sea, with the chance to hear the crack of calving ice and watch the landscape unfold from the ship.
• Time ashore brings a completely different side of Alaska. In Juneau, you could head towards Mendenhall Glacier or take to the water in search of whales. Skagway brings Gold Rush history and the chance to ride the White Pass & Yukon Route through dramatic mountain scenery, while Ketchikan is known for salmon, colourful waterfront buildings, and strong Native Alaskan heritage.
