Your journey begins in Zurich, a city known for its attractive Old Town, lakeside setting, and excellent cafés. Spend time walking along the Limmat River, visiting Grossmünster, or exploring the narrow streets around Niederdorf before boarding the Bernina Express. As the train travels through the Swiss Alps, you’ll pass snow-covered peaks, mountain lakes, deep valleys, and the famous Landwasser Viaduct. With panoramic windows offering uninterrupted views, this scenic journey is one of the main highlights of the trip.
Next, you’ll visit Milan, where historic landmarks sit alongside stylish shopping streets and lively cafés. The magnificent Duomo di Milano is a must-see, while the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II offers an impressive setting for a coffee or an evening aperitivo. You can also visit Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, browse the boutiques of the Quadrilatero della Moda, or try classic Milanese dishes, including risotto alla milanese and cotoletta.
From Milan, you’ll travel onwards to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and one of Italy’s most rewarding cities to explore on foot. See Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Gallery, admire the artwork in the Uffizi Gallery, and cross the Ponte Vecchio for views across the River Arno. There is also time to enjoy Tuscan specialities in one of the city’s traditional trattorias, from fresh pasta and ribollita to the famous bistecca alla fiorentina.
Your final stop is Rome, where ancient history, grand squares, and lively neighbourhoods come together. Visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum, make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, or spend time exploring Vatican City and St Peter’s Basilica.
