Sail the Greek Islands by private yacht

Spend eight days sailing through the Ionian Islands, travelling from Kefalonia all the way to Corfu aboard a small catamaran. Along the way, you’ll stop at lesser-known islands like Atokos, Kalamos, and Antipaxos, with plenty of time for swimming, waterfront dinners, and slow afternoons at sea. This route combines quiet fishing villages, clear turquoise bays, and lively harbour towns, giving you access to a more laid-back side of Greece away from the bigger tourist spots.

Your trip begins in Kefalonia, where colourful harbour fronts, hidden beaches, and relaxed tavernas set the tone for the week ahead. From here, you’ll sail onwards through Ithaca, Atokos, Kastos, and Kalamos - smaller islands where life moves at a much slower pace. Expect tiny waterfront villages with only a handful of cafés, locals bringing in the day’s catch, and secluded bays where the boat can anchor for swimming stops in unbelievably clear water.
Next, you’ll continue towards Meganisi and Lefkada, where the scenery shifts between pine-covered hillsides and bright white cliffs dropping into the sea. Lefkada’s waterfront is quite lively, with bustling marinas, bars, and family-run restaurants serving local specialities, like slow-cooked lamb, grilled octopus, and fresh feta drizzled with olive oil from nearby groves. You’ll also pass Skorpios, the private island once owned by the Onassis family, adding a little old-Hollywood history to the route.
Towards the end of the trip, you’ll reach Paxos and Antipaxos, known for their brilliant blue water and hidden sea caves. Antipaxos is one of those places that barely feels real when you first arrive, with white sand, transparent water, and tiny coves only accessible by boat. Then it’s onwards to Corfu, where Venetian architecture, cobbled streets, and lively squares give the finale of the trip a completely different atmosphere from the smaller islands earlier in the week. Spend your final evening wandering through Corfu Old Town, stopping for cocktails in Liston Square or dinner in one of the tucked-away courtyard tavernas.
Throughout the trip, you’ll stay on board the Catamaran 44, which gives the whole experience a far more personal feel than a large cruise ship. On deck, there’s plenty of room to relax between stops, whether that’s stretching out in the sunshine, reading in the shaded seating areas, or watching the coastline roll by with a drink in hand. With a much smaller group on board, the atmosphere stays sociable without ever feeling crowded.
