With the privilege of visiting around 50 countries (and counting), my travel adventures have taken me from childhood package holidays to thrilling fly drives across the US, exhilarating theme parks, and a transformative gap year in 2003-2004, where I backpacked through South America, Australasia, and Southeast Asia. My journey continued with work opportunities that led me to live in New Zealand in 2011, and a memorable stint on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in 2006.
Career:
My career has been equally adventurous, recruiting international students to study in the UK, travelling extensively to China, South America, the US, and Canada. These experiences have deepened my expertise in curating unforgettable trips, whether for solo adventurers, couples, or families.
Family:
Now, as a parent of three, my holiday planning has evolved. I understand the importance of short daytime flights, kids' clubs, top-notch facilities, and all-inclusive options. Just back from our second family holiday arranged by Alayna Carter at Travel Counsellors and all we can say is WOW.
Firstly a jam packed ski adventure and now a super relaxing holiday in the sun.

An amazing stress-free holiday booking experience
Alayna at Travel Counsellors was incredibly helpful with our holiday booking and I would thoroughly recommend her to anybody looking for a holiday :)
It was great that the hassle of finding the right location, flight times and bedroom setup (catering for 5 year old twins) was removed and all we had to do was pick from a few suitable options.
It was also a big relief that Alayna could help us to choose suitable plane seats with our children which were not available if booking direct.

Alayna Carter from Travel Counsellors arranged our family holiday to Fuerteventura this April. There were 3 families going together so lots of different needs. Alayna made this such an enjoyable and smooth experience. She was very professional and spent time to fully understand what we wanted before sending over some fantastic options. The organisation pre holiday was awesome, I loved the ease of the portal to make payments and to access information about our holiday. Alayna sent all the important paperwork over prior to the trip with a pre holiday gift. We are now back and I can say that the holiday was absolutely perfect and everything we wanted.

What an incredible week visiting family in Guernsey! We packed a LOT in to one week! Flying with Aurigny from Birmingham airport (top tip, buy the fast pass for security, the airport was packed and the queues were long, we breezed through!) Flight only takes an hour and super easy to pick up a hire car at the airport, we used Europcar on this trip, but there was also Sixt and Hertz available too
Long Weekend at Center Parcs - Feb 2025

Spent a lovely long weekend at Sherwood Forest Center Parcs to finish off the Feb Half Term. I always seem to book a few too many activities in though! This time we did: Friday: ? Swimming - The Swimming pool was very busy when we went on the Friday, less so on the Sunday - but the girls didn't care and still loved it and always managed to get a changing room/locker. ? Good bits: - The monorail wasn’t running but the bus that took us from the hotel to the park was very frequent, we didn’t wait longer than 5 mins. - It wasn’t packed!
