Grecotel Gems in Corfu: Four Hotels, Four Stories, One Unforgettable Stay
All you need to know abour Grecotel in Corfu
Welcome to the world of Grecotel in Corfu...my honest assessment of 4 beautiful properties.
Corfu is one of those islands that gets under your skin: olive groves spilling down to the sea, pretty pastel villages and evenings that seem made for long, lazy dinners outdoors. On a recent visit I had the chance to experience Corfu through the lens of Grecotel, staying and visiting four of their properties on the island.
What really struck me was how different each hotel felt, yet there was a clear common thread running through all of them: that warm, intuitive Greek hospitality that Grecotel is known for. As a family‑owned company, there is a personal touch and pride here that really sets them apart from many other hotel groups in Greece.
Over three nights I stayed at Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica (1 night) and Corfu Imperial (2 nights), with visits to Eva Palace and Daphnila Bay, plus some very special experiences in between.
And to be completely honest from the start: Corfu Imperial stole my heart by a country mile.
LUXME Costa Botanica: Lush, Laid‑Back Corfu in the North
My trip began at Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica in Acharavi, in the quieter north of the island.
Costa Botanica feels like a resort tucked inside a botanical garden: low‑rise buildings, lawns, and pockets of greenery everywhere you look. It has a relaxed, village‑style atmosphere that suits families and couples who like space, nature and a slower pace. You feel a little removed from the busier parts of the island, which is a big part of its charm.
For me, Costa Botanica offers:
- A more back‑to‑nature kind of luxury in the style of a Greek village
- A sense of privacy and space
- Plenty to keep everyone occupied without needing to venture far
- It is the sort of place where days easily drift between the pool, the beach, long lunches and evening strolls through the gardens.
Corfu Imperial: Peninsula‑Top Perfection (My Standout Favourite)
From there I travelled down to the Kommeno peninsula and checked into Corfu Imperial, where I stayed for two nights. This is the hotel that completely won me over.
Perched on its own peninsula, Corfu Imperial has the feel of a grand Mediterranean retreat, with the Ionian Sea wrapped around it on three sides. Think marble, manicured gardens, and expansive sea views at every turn. It is glamorous, yes, but in a very relaxed, unforced way.
From the moment I arrived, everything just clicked:
- The setting is spectacular, with hidden coves and jetties all around the peninsula.
- My room opened onto breathtaking sea views that made every sunrise and sunset feel special.
- The overall atmosphere combines elegance with ease, whether you are by the pool, in the restaurants, or simply wandering the grounds.
- One of the highlights of my stay here was a speedboat trip directly from the hotel’s jetty. Skimming along the coastline, discovering small bays and seeing the Kommeno peninsula from the water really brought home just how extraordinary this location is. It is exactly the kind of extra experience that turns a luxury stay into a truly memorable holiday.
Without a doubt, if I had to choose just one hotel from the trip to return to tomorrow, it would be Corfu Imperial. It has that special something that is very hard to put into words but impossible to forget once you have felt it.
An Evening at Danilia Village: Storybook Corfu
Another standout experience during my time on the island was an evening visit to Danilia Village.
Danilia is a painstakingly restored traditional Corfiot village, full of cobbled streets, colourful facades and characterful little squares. It feels almost like stepping back in time, and it has in fact been used as a filming location over the years.
We wandered the narrow lanes, soaked up the atmosphere, then sat down for a relaxed dinner surrounded by all that old‑world charm. It is a beautiful reminder that Corfu is not only about beaches and sunsets: it is also about history, culture and a very proud local identity.
For clients, Danilia is a magical option for weddings, group celebrations or private events, offering something truly different and deeply Corfiot.
Eva Palace: Romantic Hideaway for Grown‑Ups
As part of the trip I also had a hotel tour of Eva Palace, another Grecotel property on the Kommeno peninsula.
Eva Palace immediately felt more intimate and romantic. Perched above the sea with beautiful views, it has a quieter, more grown‑up atmosphere that would be perfect for couples and honeymooners who want to escape everyday life and sink into something a little more indulgent.
Compared with the other properties, Eva Palace is:
- More boutique and romantic in feel
- Ideal for honeymoons, anniversaries and couple escapes
- A lovely choice if you want a calm base but still be close to the wider Grecotel facilities on the peninsula
Daphnila Bay: Barefoot Fun by the Sea
My final hotel visit was a tour of Daphnila Bay, which has yet another personality within the Grecotel family.
Daphnila Bay sits amongst greenery, sloping down to the water, and has an easy, friendly energy that makes it feel instantly welcoming. It is the one I would naturally suggest to active families and groups of friends who want lots going on, a sociable atmosphere and who love a more traditional style of accomodation.
Here the focus is very much on:
- Fun, relaxed days by the sea
- A sociable, family‑friendly environment
- A beautiful natural setting that still feels very Corfiot
One Family, Four Very Different Stays
What I loved about this trip was seeing how four properties under the same brand can offer such distinctly different holiday experiences:
LUXME Costa Botanica: Green, spacious and laid‑back, perfect for nature‑lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape in the north.
Corfu Imperial: My clear favourite, a peninsula‑top icon that blends classic luxury with relaxed elegance and unforgettable sea views.
Eva Palace: Romantic and intimate, ideal for couples and honeymooners wanting that special hideaway feel.
Daphnila Bay: Friendly, fun and sociable, a brilliant match for families and groups who love to be active and by the water.
Yet throughout all four, one thing was absolutely consistent: the warmth of the welcome and the genuine, heartfelt Greek hospitality that Grecotel is famous for. You feel looked after, remembered and valued, not just processed.
That, I believe, comes back to the fact that Grecotel is a family‑owned company. There is a sense of continuity and personal pride that filters through everything: from the way staff greet you by name, to the attention to detail in the rooms and the care taken over food and experiences. In a world of big anonymous hotel chains, this makes a real difference.
