Back from Beautiful Malta

Last week we returned from a fantastic 5‑daybreak in Malta – what a lovely island!

We flew from Liverpool Airport, which was excellent: fast check‑in and a really smooth experience. I’d recommend flying from here.

We stayed in Qawra, just down the road from Bugibba, which worked well as a base. During our stay we packed in so much:

Open‑top bus tours to Marsaxlokk and Mdina

 Marsaxlokk – a beautiful traditional fishing village and well worth a visit

 Mdina – the old capital of Malta, full of history and character

Sliema – very busy and lively

Valletta – a lovely area with stunning sights and atmosphere

The highlight of the trip was Gozo

Just a short ferry journey away, we hired e‑bikes and explored the north‑west of the island – a brilliant way to see Gozo and highly recommended.

All of this fitted comfortably into just five days, and the weather was fantastic.
