Get ready for a Mediterranean summer, the Seabourn way

There are plenty of ways to see the Mediterranean, but arriving by small ship can reveal a very different side of it. With Seabourn, a summer voyage can take you from celebrated cities and islands to smaller harbours and coastal towns that don’t feature on every Mediterranean cruise itinerary. One day might bring the whitewashed streets of a Greek island, the next an ancient archaeological site, a colourful local market, or a yacht harbour tucked along the French or Italian Riviera.

Get ready for a Mediterranean summer, the Seabourn way

And with Summer 2027 at the heart of Seabourn’s current Mediterranean programme, alongside 2028 and newly launched 2029 voyages, there’s plenty of choice for you to start looking ahead. Seabourn’s 2027 Mediterranean season aboard Seabourn Ovation stretches across Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Greece, and Turkey, with voyages designed to be combined for those wanting to explore for longer.

Discover the Mediterranean beyond the obvious

Rome, Barcelona, Athens, Dubrovnik, and Venice are all part of the story, but one of the advantages of Seabourn’s smaller ships is being able to mix famous destinations with more intimate ports. In 2027, you could arrive in Portofino, hop between Corsican ports such as Calvi and Bonifacio, call at Korčula and Hvar along Croatia’s coast, or discover places such as Piran in Slovenia, Gythion in Greece, and Brindisi for Lecce in southern Italy. Seabourn specifically designs its Mediterranean programme around a mix of Riviera cities, beaches, seaside towns, yacht harbours, and smaller destinations, resulting in itineraries that still include the headline names, but with more distinctive stops woven in.

Find the itinerary that feels like your Mediterranean

There isn’t one single version of a Mediterranean summer, and Seabourn’s 2027 programme makes that particularly clear. For classic Greek island scenery, the seven-day Crete, Mykonos & Ephesus voyage travels from Athens to Istanbul via Monemvasia, Crete, Mykonos, Çeşme, and Kuşadası.

Prefer the Adriatic? Another eight-day itinerary links Athens with Nafplion, Kotor, Korčula, Hvar, Vodice, Piran, and Venice. Further west, summer sailings take in Rome, Portofino, Monte Carlo, Marseille, Sète, Valencia, and Barcelona, while others concentrate on the smaller coastal destinations of Spain and southern France. And because many of the voyages connect, it’s possible to turn a week at sea into a longer exploration, moving between different regions without repeatedly unpacking and repacking.

Experience Ephesus after the crowds have gone

Some of the most memorable moments on a Seabourn voyage aren’t simply about where you visit, but how you experience it. On 2027 voyages calling at Kusadasi, an ‘Evening at Ephesus’ experience is included as part of your voyage. Once the ancient site has closed to daytime visitors, Seabourn guests return for an evening of classical music within the archaeological setting.

The experience is included on Seabourn voyages visiting Kusadasi, including selected Crete, Mykonos, Ephesus departures during the 2027 Mediterranean season.

Explore the Mediterranean through its food

Seabourn’s ‘Shopping with the Chef’ experience takes small groups into local markets alongside one of the ship’s chefs. Depending on the port and market schedule, that could mean browsing a Sicilian market, discovering ingredients in Istanbul, or learning more about the produce and food traditions of Tuscany and Provence. It also creates a connection between the time spent ashore and the food served back on board, as Seabourn’s chefs look for local produce, seafood, cheeses, herbs, spices, and other regional ingredients throughout each sailing.

Make the journey part of the holiday

The destinations may draw you in, but there’s plenty of reason to enjoy the hours between them too. Seabourn’s intimate ocean ships have 229 or 300 ocean-front suites, with spacious all-suite accommodation, complimentary dining venues, and an open-seating approach that lets guests decide where and with whom they would  like to dine.

There’s also ‘Seabourn Conversations’ which brings authors, historians, performers, and other experts on board, where they become part of the wider voyage rather than simply appearing for a single lecture. This adds another layer to the journey, giving guests the chance to hear from fascinating speakers in a more relaxed, conversational setting, with talks and discussions that can enrich the places visited along the way. For example, bestselling crime writer Ann Cleeves OBE will join Seabourn Ovation’s Lisbon-to-Genoa voyage departing on 8th April 2027, which travels through Seville, Granada, Murcia, the French Riviera, and on to Italy.

Beyond the magic: Why a Disney cruise is the perfect holiday for every generation

01 September 2026

When you think of a Disney cruise, you might expect a holiday designed first and foremost for children. So, when Head Office colleague Steve Hawker booked a cruise on Disney Dream for his three young children, he expected them to have the holiday of a lifetime. What he didn't expect was that the rest of the family would be just as enchanted. Travelling as a group of 13 across three generations, the experience quickly became far more than a children's holiday. From the moment their family was announced on board to the sound of Disney's famous horn fanfare, it was clear this was a cruise designed to bring everyone together, no matter their age.
