You'll find options including Mestizo for traditional Mexican dishes, Arezzo for Tuscan-inspired cooking, and Koh-Thai for authentic Thai food.

Suites are all residence-style, ranging from one to three bedrooms, with several options to interconnect rooms. That's genuinely useful when you're travelling with young children, multi-generational family groups, or friends who want to share a holiday without sharing a single room. There's also an adults-only section with swim-up suites, so parents can find a quieter corner without stepping off the property.

Activities that go beyond the pool

For families, this is where Essence really earns its keep. The Aluxitos Kids’ Club caters for children aged four to 12 with its own dedicated pool and playground, while a separate teens' club gives older children their own space and activities programme. The beach is just steps away, and the resort sits close to Cenote Cristalino, making snorkelling and swimming in natural waters an easy half-day trip.

With children settled and entertained, adults can have some genuine time to themselves. The Spa by The Fives spans over 15,000 square feet, with 11 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit, and a beauty salon. The daily wellness programme adds more options, with sunrise yoga, breathwork sessions, sound healing, Temazcal ceremonies, and cacao ceremonies on the rotating calendar. The Fives Oceanfront: A boutique stay in Puerto Morelos

Roughly 25 minutes from Cancún Airport you’ll find Puerto Morelos. It's a small fishing village with a quieter pace than many other resorts close to Cancún, and The Fives Oceanfront suits that atmosphere well. A boutique hotel with a beachfront position, it has a selection of around 90 suites, the majority of which have ocean views, and they're all residence-style, so you'll have a proper living area, dining space, and fully equipped kitchen rather than just a standard hotel room. This works well for couples, solo travellers, and anyone who wants a smaller, more personal stay over a large resort experience. The hotel is technically open to families, but its calm, adult-focused atmosphere means it suits those looking to relax and slow down.

Beachside dining and rooftop evenings

You'll find the RoMarley Beach House on the property - a beach club and restaurant inspired by Ro Marley, son of Bob Marley. It's a casual, welcoming spot for lunch, afternoon drinks, or an evening out by the water, with Caribbean and Jamaican-influenced food, live reggae music, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to spend a few hours there without any particular plan. The Sunday Fish Market is worth planning your visit around, too. All-inclusive guests can enjoy fresh catches including oysters, chocolate clams, jumbo prawns, mussels, and Yucatán octopus, giving the stay a bit of local character that you don't always get from a hotel restaurant.

There’s also the adults-only rooftop pool at Kíin Rooftop which has clear views over the Caribbean Sea and the village below.
