Travel Counsellors experience the best of Singapore

Singapore is a city that makes a strong first impression, combining remarkable architecture, historic neighbourhoods, acclaimed restaurants, and plenty of ways to experience the city from a different perspective. During a recent Travel Counsellors trip, the group enjoyed a packed itinerary featuring the grand surroundings of Raffles Hotel, the futuristic Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, and some of Singapore’s best rooftop venues.

Seeing the city by sidecar

One of the first experiences was a sidecar city tour through Kampong Glam and the Civic District, offering a memorable way to see some of Singapore’s most recognisable sights. Travelling by sidecar, the group passed colourful shophouses, the golden dome of Sultan Mosque, and landmarks linked to Singapore’s colonial past, before taking in the city’s modern skyline.

A culinary adventure above the city

Singapore’s food and drink scene was another central part of the itinerary, from lunch at PS Café to dinner and drinks at CÉ LA VI, high above Marina Bay Sands. The group also enjoyed a cocktail-making experience at Raffles Hotel, held in the elegant Raffles Courtyard, before heading to Gardens by the Bay for a private dinner surrounded by the Supertree Grove. These experiences showed how easily Singapore can bring together historic settings, creative dining, and striking modern design within the same city break.

“There is just something about being at the top of the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, although I loved Nova Rooftop as well, which is even higher than Marina Bay Sands and was a lot quieter. I would definitely recommend that as a little ‘hidden’ gem.” - John Appleby

From Sentosa to the open water

Away from the city centre, the group spent a morning and afternoon in Sentosa, Singapore’s island resort destination, where visitors can combine beaches, attractions, restaurants, and relaxing waterfront settings. The trip ended with a private yacht charter and dinner, followed by drinks at 1-Altitude, giving the Travel Counsellors another chance to see the city from the water and from above.
