Travel Counsellors take on Iceland with Obeo Travel

In April 2026, a group of Travel Counsellors swapped their desks for glaciers, geysers and geothermal lagoons, heading to Iceland for an unforgettable few days with Obeo Travel. And from the moment they landed, it was clear this was going to be something special.

A warm Icelandic welcome

Arriving into Reykjavik, the group were greeted with crisp Arctic air and a real sense of excitement for what lay ahead. The itinerary wasted no time in showcasing Iceland at its very best, beginning with a visit to the iconic Blue Lagoon – a surreal, mineral-rich oasis set within a volcanic landscape.  Floating in the milky-blue waters, surrounded by dramatic lava fields, it was the perfect way to unwind and take in the moment.

Louise summed it up perfectly when she said:

“I’ve just returned from an incredible trip to Iceland and I am still buzzing. Steaming lagoons at sunrise, thundering waterfalls framed with ice, and Superjeeps that make you feel like a VIP the moment you land.”

That evening, the experience continued with a welcome reception followed by a Northern Lights cruise. Heading out into the darkness of Faxaflói Bay, away from the city lights, the group searched for the magical aurora borealis – a true bucket-list moment.

Into the wild: glaciers and the Golden Circle

Day two brought with it one of Iceland’s most exhilarating experiences – a snowmobile adventure across the vast Langjökull glacier. With expert guides leading the way, Travel Counsellors sped across the icy expanse, taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding highlands.

As Bob shared:

“My expectations were high but they were exceeded. Rannveig and the team were flawless in their organisation, attention to detail and unwavering support. This trip offered an incredible showcase of Iceland as a year-round destination. My personal highlight was the drive up onto the glacier and the snow-mobile trip that we all thoroughly enjoyed.”

The adventure continued along Iceland’s famous Golden Circle, where powerful waterfalls, erupting geysers and dramatic landscapes showcased the raw beauty of the country.  It was a day filled with unforgettable moments - the kind that remind you just how unique Iceland really is.

Stepping into another world

No trip to Iceland would be complete without experiencing its glaciers up close. One of the standout moments came with a visit to the Katla Ice Cave. Stepping onto the glacier and into the cave itself is like entering another world. Towering walls of blue and black ice, streaked with volcanic ash, created a dramatic and ever-changing landscape - a true natural wonder. It’s these once-in-a-lifetime experiences that make Iceland such a special destination.

Evenings to remember

Each day ended in style, with incredible food, great company and time to reflect on the day’s adventures. From the buzz of Reykjavik to the cosy luxury of Hotel Rangá - famous for its remote setting and incredible Northern Lights views - every moment felt carefully considered. Whether it was sharing stories over dinner or simply taking in the stillness of Iceland’s landscapes, these were the moments that truly brought the experience to life.

A destination like no other

Iceland is a place of contrasts - fire and ice, adventure and tranquillity, dramatic landscapes and peaceful moments. And this trip was a perfect reminder of just how much it has to offer. From geothermal lagoons and glacier adventures to Northern Lights and unforgettable scenery, Iceland proved itself as a truly year-round destination.

Spain is even better outside the summer months

24 April 2026

Spain in summer often means busy resorts, packed city centres, and temperatures that can make even short walks feel like hard work. Visiting in spring or autumn changes the pace completely. Days are still warm and bright, but without the intensity, which makes it far easier to enjoy everything from sightseeing to long, relaxed meals outdoors. You will also notice fewer queues at major attractions, more availability at popular hotels, and a general sense that you can take your time rather than plan everything around the crowds.

Beyond the beaches of Nassau & Paradise Island

24 April 2026

Nassau & Paradise Island are often associated with their beaches, but there’s much more to the destination than a typical sun holiday. It combines history, food, activities, and events in a way that makes it easy to build a varied itinerary. In 2026, there are even more reasons to visit, including the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival at Baha Mar from 21st to 25th October.
