A guide to Oceania Cruises’ newly refurbished Marina

A guide to Oceania Cruises’ newly refurbished Marina

A refreshed onboard experience

Marina has long been known for its relaxed atmosphere and focus on dining, and the refurbishment builds on this rather than changing it. Public areas across the ship will be updated with new furnishings, lighting, and design details, creating a more consistent look throughout. The Grand Lounge will also be expanded to include the new Founders Bar, offering a dedicated space for drinks in the evening. On deck, new loungers and day beds will make it easier to spend time by the pool or enjoy quieter moments at sea.

Redesigned staterooms and suites

All staterooms on board will be fully redesigned, with updated layouts and new furnishings to improve both space and comfort. Bathrooms are also being completely refreshed, with marble finishes and larger rainforest showers, giving a more modern feel. Suites, including Penthouse and Owner’s Suites, will be updated to reflect recent enhancements introduced across the fleet, ensuring a consistent standard throughout.

Dining and culinary experiences

Food remains a key part of the Marina experience, and several updates focus on enhancing this further. Signature restaurants, including Polo Grill, Red Ginger, Toscana, and Jacques, will be refreshed, alongside improvements to their kitchens. A new Chef’s Studio will replace the Artist Loft, offering a space for cooking demonstrations, hands-on classes, and tasting sessions. This gives you the opportunity to learn directly from culinary experts and enjoy the dishes you create. Baristas, the onboard coffee venue, will also be expanded to include a bakery, serving pastries and lighter options throughout the day.

When to travel and how to plan

The refurbishment is scheduled for October 2026, so sailings from late 2026 onwards will feature the updated ship. Marina typically offers itineraries across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and beyond, with most voyages ranging from seven to 14 nights. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a balance between time exploring destinations and time enjoying the ship itself. If you’re interested in the updated experience, it’s worth planning ahead, particularly for popular itineraries and onboard experiences, such as the Chef’s Studio, which are likely to book quickly.

Beyond the magic: Why a Disney cruise is the perfect holiday for every generation

01 September 2026

When you think of a Disney cruise, you might expect a holiday designed first and foremost for children. So, when Head Office colleague Steve Hawker booked a cruise on Disney Dream for his three young children, he expected them to have the holiday of a lifetime. What he didn't expect was that the rest of the family would be just as enchanted. Travelling as a group of 13 across three generations, the experience quickly became far more than a children's holiday. From the moment their family was announced on board to the sound of Disney's famous horn fanfare, it was clear this was a cruise designed to bring everyone together, no matter their age.

When you think of a Caribbean cruise, it's often the ports of call that steal the spotlight. But Norwegian Cruise Line is changing that with its private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
